5:25 The ANCESTORS of shipped cats? You sure abut that? Also pleeease stop saying "Kergülen" I hate it (I guess there's a chance for the name to be of German origin which would legitimize the pronunciation but in French at list the u is silent between g and e, and between g and i, it is there to indicate that the g must be pronunced as a hard stop and not a fricative like the s in "closure". All the syllables in "Kerguelen" have the same vowel, as far as French pronunciation is concerned) Now that I'm done being an ass I will note that in spite of knowing about this island/archipelago this experience felt like something between a fever dream and an elaborate meme anthology and that I did learn stuff about this place and thus I thank thee

One of our buses had a modified engine just for goofy shit at school events (it was not allowed for actual transportation use). For example, it would pull up to the football field and let its engine roar like a goddamn monster, this thing could silence the entire audience. Then the players would hop out of every entrance (including the roof hatches). The rumor was it it was gifted to us by a former student who became a competitor in destruction derbies, but I am fairly certain it was a former student who just became a cool mechanic.

Who’s ready for Tesla Semi? Electric trucking is coming. Predict need for huge charging station at Coffs Harbour and midway from Syd to Melb. If that’s jarring, driverless will be more so.

I LOVE JUMPING SPIDERS!!!
@dianefiske-foy471713 күн бұрын
I see a whole lot of the black little Jumping Spider in my basement apartment in central Alabama and like them best, because they’re so tiny and fun to watch. They must like it ‘cause it’s damp and I keep my place fairly dark. They’re cool 😎! I see a lot of Wolf Spiders too. Only seen one Brown Recluse Spider though, luckily. Seen tons of these weird looking harmless Centipede-like bugs too. I don’t like them. They’re creepy.

Truck stops are a big thing, in the US they have like whole towns of shops and hotel to be easy to access. In the US, most truckers own their own cab, and in Europe it's much more often owned by a company, so the cabin is more efficient. It is not really ancient roads.

You can mod the density of traffic. Play-it-safe mode is fairly easy.

I rode a “big, yellow bus” for 13 years. Both my parents worked full-time, and I never lived close enough to walk. Same thing is happening to my kids. I would NEVER drive a school bus! Not after the shenanigans I saw and heard the kids get up to! 😳

You forgot to mention the Wayne Lifeguard school bus and how it used FULL LENGTH body panels. Carpenter folded in November of 2000, not the 1980s. In the 2000s, the fuel tank was moved from behind the stepwell (outside of the heavy frame rails) to behind the rear axle (between the heavy frame rails).

These are like the road counterparts of the switcher locomotives on the railroads. They essentially serve the same purpose of moving stuff around within a yard and rarely going further than that, so their design was basically optimized for that specific function: easily operable in both directions, low top speed, high torque for quick acceleration, etc.
