So sad that this platform was obsolete 15 years ago, but Harley kept making it with zero improvements, and the riding position is horrible for any more than lower speed cruising for 20 minutes. It's a great poser bike, but you have to dump so much money into it to make it comfortable and shift properly. And don't get me started about that Rev Max piece of garbage. I had an 84 Sporty, and that was the biggest piece of sht bike I ever owned. Had to rebuild the engine and transmission at 22,000 miles, rode it for a year after that, then sold it. Almost bought a Sporty Evo, but I remembered the almost exact tractor-like build and poor quality, so I decided to leave Harley forever after that. At least Indian nailed it right out of the gate with the Scout 101 and the FTR. If you notice, craigslist is full of sportsters people are trying to dump, but the Scouts and FTRs are few. Just counted 28 Sportsters to 5 Scouts and 2 FTRs. If you love Sportys, they are super cheap now because there are MUCH better bikes used out there, so grab one! Guys here can't even get $6000 for a 2020 883. If it's a 2004-2010 they're selling for around $3000. Everyone is just dumping them now, unless you go to the Harley dealer where they way overcharge you.
