Lovely moment of candid honesty about performing , living , life on the road , and just what that all meant to him . Stand up comedians do truly hold the reins of a freedom of speech which is rapidly disappearing. We kid ourselves that we live in free societies, while being watched by thousands of cameras , our bank accounts monitored for the odd extra pound , the cars we are being sold , are so full of tracking devices , we leave a trail on every journey . Lets not even go down the road of cellphones sites , and gps tracking . Nobody is truly free anymore , but as long as comedy reminds us of the ridiculousness of life , then we still have a chance of chalenging the norm , the expected , the path that is laid out ahead of us .

Bill did a bit about how Jimi Hendrix was sent down to earth to show them how it's done and "we'll pick you up in 27 years." He was about 27 here and his life ended up being very similar to that bit.

Every interview with Bill Hicks could be described as rare. Not many individuals of his like around.
