What I did was take my board inside my home with me, the Kluber 80 is perfect for this. Then I would simulate the start by taking 2 steps and then placing the board on my bed (I have a low bed though, only about 40 cm high) and jumping on it. For stretching exercises I mostly just focused on touching my toes and trying to touch my forehead to my front knee without bending my knees.

Nice set! Great job on the goofy starts! Must be nice to have a foil buddy to root you on like that. Is that the Sirus XL?
@slappysurf3 күн бұрын
@@Steve_Just_Steve that’s actually the 3XL (the second biggest one they make). Foiling is such a good buddy sport. Usually you can share 1 foil between two people due to rest time but with this thing it was so easy to pump that we both needed to take breaks at the same time.

Hi, would png 1300 v2 be good for this ?
@slappysurf4 күн бұрын
The 1300v2 has a slower stall speed than the 1401 but not a crazy amount slower. It will be challenging compared to the 2000+ sqcm wings but doable. It will help to have a higher dock to give you more energy. The dock in this video is only 35 cm high. Keep in mind though the higher the dock the harder it is to bend over and hold the board even with 1 hand.

Yeah, I find the 1300v2 has a tiny bit better low end and turns better but I also find it lacks lift and have started to try positive shimming to make it feel more natural to me. For flat water I think the 1401 is the clear winner, for waves probably the 1300v2.

amazing effort. thanx for putting this online. my v21300 is arriving mid december. 1401 is definitelly an efficient wing - but could you maybe compare how these two wings turn? Do you downwind these wings?
@slappysurfАй бұрын
The 1300v2 turns better than the 1401 for sure, but it's not the kind of wing you can just pump naturally while turning (like the SF1180 or 1201). I don't SUP DW at all but I do dockstart DW and wing flag or wing drop DW. For dockstart DW I mostly use 1401. For wing DW I only use SF1180. I did try the 1300v2 for wing DW the other day and I struggled with it's more rear lifting point and struggled to pump it up on to foil in conditions I'd have been okay on the SF1180.
@berci1001Ай бұрын

Great work! You really are nailing it, I’m very jealous! Vancouver native here who unfortunately was moved to Ontario as a kid many moons ago, I’m just trying to learn wingfoiling here and it’s been challenging. The wind is actually up today and I’m about to go out again and test out my new 2nd hand drysuit. There’s a small lake close to me where even with wind there’s not too much surf, only small chop and then there’s Lake Ontario only 10 minutes away, but it’s frigid year round so I have been going over to Lake Erie - warmer and some nice beaches.

What GoPro were you using before? I’m using the Mini 11, and wanted to get the new small one but I don’t think it does Horizon lock so I cant really use it in the lines of a kite? Is that something that can be applied with the app afterwards?
@slappysurf2 ай бұрын
I was using my Hero Session 5, it's been great and I chose this one because I find the full GoPros to be so big and heavy and most of the time I have it in my mouth or on my helmet. Sadly there is no horizon lock in the app. The app leaves a lot to be desired, like you can't use a USB cable to transfer the files quicker, you have to use wifi. And when you export videos out of the app it doesn't give you an option for resolution if you do more than 1 at once and then it ends up exporting 1080p as 720p. When exporting 4k it takes about 30 second per minute of video on my old iPad pro.

Can you compare the 1401 vs the PNG 1150? I’m using 1150 but really been thinking about a 1401 to up my level
@slappysurf3 ай бұрын
I've never tried the 1150 so I can't compare. I do have a 910b and can compare it to that. Very different foils and they pump differently. I find the pump easier on the 910b for beginners but once you get the hang of the pump for the 1401/1201 it's hard to go back to the deeper pumping the 910b likes. I find the SF1180 pumps more similar to the 1401/1201, it likes sharp little pumps with not much pitch change. I'm very happy with the 1401 but if I was you I'd wait to hear some real reviews on the 1300v2 before making a purchase.
