I would like to know how this approach is ultimately imported into the game engine, as it seems the engine can only import through morph targets
@KinematicLAB9 күн бұрын
Hi, these are morph happening on top of the rigging which is not possible with regular morpher, so it's quite unique. The only way would be alembic, or a similar tool in engine. Or, which is more complex, extract the corrected poses with inversed rig deltas into a morpher below the skin, with baked keys, or a similar approach in engine to drive the extracted morphs. I would say the extract with deltas baked in keys is doable but not that simple. Maybe I'll work on that

Your work is mighty impressive, congratulations! I'd love to see how those muscles were made. Should you ever decide to run some rigging courses teaching your craft, count me in. A step by step making of this dragon creature would be excellent, there are hardly any learning sources like this for Max.

I really appreciate, again this is a lot of custom tools I did for that, specialy on the muscle creation. The dragon rig itself is a custom rig using only common 3dsmax stuff.

Very nice,is it possbile to Save all the setup and Load again?for example if i have the another Chracter with Same Corrective posses and Same Topology same Rig Setup,so all the setup can be re used?
@KinematicLAB17 күн бұрын
well there should be a way, here the setup was a simple biped rig, and the pose correction tool uses helpers parented to the rig in order to blend correctly, so the helpers can transfer with the rig. and as long as the mesh is the same the modifier should work.
@saqibmalic17 күн бұрын

What is the underlying scheme used here for particles flowing based on color? Is it that they move from 0 to 255 in some aspect of color space? Like Hue value in HSB or something? I'm wondering about using texture maps made by other means. I've experimented with using some Object space normal maps to see what happens and get interesting results where the particles move away from the surface. Any clues about the logic would be cool to know. Unless it is some secret sauce that you can't reveal, lol. Thanks.
@KinematicLAB2 жыл бұрын
I use RGB values as XYZ values. mid color 127 being neutral axis value 0. so if a color value is below 127 it’s a negative value and above positive.

@KinematicLAB2 жыл бұрын
not at this stage, not sure it would be possible since it's another layer on top. The dorito Helpers are moving because there is a skin modifier bellow deforming the mesh. Then these helpers are used to deform on top of the skin modifier. So not sure how this could be baked into skin properly.

how to align highlight in matcap with light source
@KinematicLAB3 жыл бұрын
by definition, a matcap has every material and light properties baked into a single Matcap image. But in our tool we have added the ability to blend the scene light shadows on top. So if your matcap doesn't have too much lighting defined this would work, and you can rotate the matcap to adjust the light position. An interseting approach would be to have some similar matcaps with different lighting setups baked to them, so you can choose between different kind of lighting while keeping the same sort of material. Then if you need proper reaction to scene lighting, of course, matcap isn't for you. you should stick to regular shaders and lights. This is mainly for a quick sexy viewport look
