The seal gets hard because of high hydraulic temp. Get high-pressure viton seals. Sort out the high temp with a cooler. Do not stall the functions. It will dump oil over the relieve valve and create heat.

I would assume that the valves of the swing boom are not symmetrical. A manufacturing deviation. Valve dimensions are critical in terms of performance. I once worked on a servo control for a hydraulic elevator. We could not get good control in each direction (up & down) until we examined the control valves and found one that was VERY slightly out of spec.

Thanks, good to know the spinning drill trick only works on non-inverter generators. It turns out that I let the generator run for a while and it began working normally. Apparently, it needed to get up to speed for a little bit in order to generate power. I like your calm tone of confronting a problem. I'm a general contractor and can do a variety of things, but often I come upon something new. In those moments your calm and thoughtful approach is exactly what's needed.

@TreeChangeFarmer
@TreeChangeFarmer Ай бұрын
I would not use them on hills. The motors when not going forward or back have no braking within and you can end up free wheeling down the hills. Only way is to have the bucket on the ground and slide it along as a sort of brake. Have a look at @howardkettner on youtube, as he has an example of free wheeling and how he solved the issue. Cheers Dave.

You should have taken spidels off ,and take the bearings out to grease them. The rubber. on the bearings come out to grease the bearings. Putting grease in the bottom, doesn't grease the bearings. John Deere wants you to spend money not save it,and they don't tell you about doing it that way.

Hey man, thanks for that video. I have a similar engine its called ll385, looks the same. Just wondering what do you do with the coolant? When it arrived it only had some on the bigger reservoir but the smaller plastic one didnt have any. Should it have? Do you ever change the fuel filter? I will also change the hydraulic oil, I cant seem to see how to get all the oil out (besides the tank) and make sure it air free. Any tips on those. Thanks already! Cant wait to start using the machine.
@TreeChangeFarmer
@TreeChangeFarmer Ай бұрын
On my machine there is small external to the radiator plastic reservoir. It has two lines on it an upper mark and a lower mark. I check when cold that the fluid is at the upper mark. The level will vary on the temp of the engine. Haven't changed the fuel filter as yet. I am thinking of putting a better spin on diesel filter system. The manual for my digger says to change the hydraulic oil at 2000 hours (which I haven't done as yet). Although I did also read somewhere it should be changed after 12 months but haven't done that (still looks clear). Don't worry about getting the air out. Just run the digger and cycle through each cylinder on the arm and the pick, run the travel motors forward and back and rotate the house. Any air will end up back in the tank and vent out. Cheers Dave.

How many hours does your typical outage last might you say? Having a battery+inverter (pre-made as a 'power station' eg Bluetti (make sure it has a lifepo4 battery for safety's sake)) handy to cover say 12 hour outages is handy. If you want to make your own you'll prob save ~$500-1000. Eg. $800 for a 100ah 24v lifepo4 battery, $450 for a 3500va inverter and say $200-300 for wire, fuse, isolator, lugs, heatshrink, tools, etc. In my experience, watching gumtree generator ads daily, you can find a modern inverter generator ~2kva for $200 (in WA) if you wait a month or three, or ~$300 if you want one sooner. I got a barely used 2kva kings for $200 ($~500 new as of today) compact generator (not the cubic open-frame type). It's a bit noisy but works fine. Edit: just watched your second video showing the 3kva ~$400 kings opted for.

There is a housing estate being built on the land next to us. Maybe twice a month for the last year the power goes off at 8am and comes on again at 5pm. If I am working in the sign shop the printer need about 2500 watts to run so would struggle with a back up battery system. The Kings generator does the job well so far. Still looking for a similar generator to the broken 'Gensafe' on marketplace so I can repair the original one. Cheers Dave.

My dad bought a Chinese 3000w generator on 10-27-2012 two days after hurricane sandy hit long island. He bought it at home Depot. I has with him and I remember that generator he bought was the only one there that home Depot had. He got it for $412. I was searching online for the exact generator and I read a forum that they don't make them anymore they discontinued it on 9-15-2012 right before my dad got it. The brand is a CF powerLine and the model is a LT3000CL. It kind of looks like a King Canada PowerForce 3000 watt generator looks identical. I still have it running strong haven't had any problems besides The carburetor.👍🏻👍🏻

I have other UHI products which have been fine and I had the opportunity to use the UHI 454 tractor over 2 days on a friends property. I was impressed when using it and believe since filming that there have not been any issues. I regularly am in contact with the sales people at UHI and haven't heard of any warranty issues on these tractors. When you even mention chinese made products there will always be those that will put them down and make up stories of warranty problems when most of time it is the equipment not being operated correctly and not being serviced correctly. Cheers Dave.

Hello. Please need expert's suggestions/advice. We hired a contractor for a mezzanine floor for our shop and our contractor by mistake/intentionally fixed 50mm PU sandwich panel on floor and finished concrete over it. We have mixed opinion about using sandwich panel as a floor. Good morning from the US. I have a Renogy RBM500 battery monitor and have hooked it up according to the instructions and the same as you have done with the shunt and negative wire from the battery to the shunt etc. I have a EPOCH 36 Volt 100 AH lithium battery in a EZGO 36 Volt golf cart. When I power the battery on via the on/off power push button, it beeps and shuts down. When I disconnect the shunt and take it out of the system the battery powers up and the cart drives fine but I do not have the Renogy Monitor to use. It is very perplexing. I called Renogy but did not really geet a answer to my question. Any insight or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, great video.......

The only thing different I notice to my set up is that I do not have a power on button on the battery. My batteries are the 3 x 12 volt connected in series that are are always powered (on). I have the original key on the dash which I use. It sounds like when you power on it surges the shunt. The shunt I think can act like a resistor to the circuit and maybe the battery thinks there is a 'short' somewhere and shuts down. The shunt uses a very low trickle current to run the signal to the monitor but not enough to drain the battery. Can you leave your battery in the 'on' mode and still turn the key off? Cheers Dave.
