@chengahlang2000
@chengahlang2000 Жыл бұрын
I run it on 2S because of the battery tray. As far as I know the diffs are still okay. Tamiya included plastic gears but they are really wide and beefy. If the diffs ever get destroyed then I will lock them permanently with super glue or jb weld or something and turn it into a crawler.

Yes but it goes over the front bumper, completely covering it. And you'd have to cut into the rear bumper of the body to fit into the bumper on the chassis.

I have a question .. that redcat camo tt body is at a good price and I wanted to buy it for my axial yeti score but not if it fits
@chengahlang2000
@chengahlang2000 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't have the Axial Yeti Score so I don't know if it'll fit or not. I didn't know if the Redcat Camo TT body would fit before I bought it for my Losi Baja Rey either. But I figure that I would cut it up to make it fit. I had to drill holes and use a couple tie wraps to make it fit. You can also visit your local hobby store and see if they have a sample of the body for you to try on, or google the dimensions of it (wheelbase, etc.), worst case scenario you'd have to do some cutting. You'd still have to drill holes in it.

Nice body! So the stock body mounts extend high enough to allow the body to fit? That was my only concern, I didnt think the Proline body mounts for the slash would work/or were even necessary.
@chengahlang2000
@chengahlang2000 4 жыл бұрын
Yes the stock body mounts from Arrma will work. Proline claims on their site that it's required to buy their screw on mounting posts but I didn't see a reason to buy them. I think magnets would work better but that would involve some creativity. The wheel wells don't exactly line up but you can trim them to make them fit. The front tires might also rub the body a bit but you can also trim the front wells higher if you want. If you want more height for your body you could buy the proline screw on posts or get creative and use magnets or make your own wooden posts or something, lol!

I have widened the stance by adding 18mm hex wheel adapters to all 6 wheels since this video. And it does prevent it from rolling over as often. Took me awhile to get used to looking at it with such a wide stance but now it looks normal to me. I know it adds more strain on the drive shafts, so thanks for the heads up on the part number. It has a cheapo GoolRC Brushless ESC and Motor combo setup and it works great for me so far.

Nice did you need to buy anything to make it fit, the body is only 240mm wide according to the spec I've seen and the senton is 330 or something.
@chengahlang2000
@chengahlang2000 5 жыл бұрын
No, I didn't need to buy anything else other than the body and paint. Proline claims on their site that you'd need to have their special screw-on body posts, but the stock Senton body posts work fine for this body, too. Yes, the body's wheel base is a little short, so I had to trim back the rear well fender more to widen it. There's also a little bit of rubbing in the front, but you can always trim back on the body fenders some more if you want. It's not a perfect fit, but it's close.

@@chengahlang2000 thank you very much, the senton is a really hard car to find a replacement body here in the UK. Even the senton body is hard to find at a reasonable price. I'll give this a go, was the paint job complicated?
@chengahlang2000
@chengahlang2000 5 жыл бұрын
@@shaggysgcanimal No, not complicated at all. Only two colors. I watched other youtubers videos first. First cut and drill holes in the body. Then wash it inside with soap to remove oil and fingerprints and let it dry completely. Then put the window stickers inside and mask the area you don't want painted yet with a good masking tape, be careful not to touch too much on the inside of the body that was washed. Then spray paint, make sure it's Tamiya Polycarbonate, very light coats first and let it dry, then gradually add more coats. Let dry, remove masks, paint second color, light coats at a time, etc. If you mess up, keep in mind you could paint on the outside of the body too, just remove it's protective film. I wanted my truck bed to have a different texture so I cut the film exactly around it and paint it on the outside. The uncut film protected the rest of the truck from the spray paint.

Thanks! This was driven on the Gen 8! The portal axles are awesome! I'd normally get stuck in the taller grass and softer ground with my other RC trucks, but the Gen 8 has no problems at all. The only thing is that I would lose transmitter signal occasionally if I drive too far in FPV from inside my house. But I've never lose signal when I'm driving outside. So I switched out the stock redcat remote and receiver with a Tactic TTX300 and it has yet to lose signal when I'm driving inside. I want to really test the range in daylight. Hopefully I won't lose my truck lol

Can you recommend a RC car for 140 dollars
@chengahlang2000
@chengahlang2000 6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Sorry for the late response. What kind of RC car are you interested in? For example, a monster truck, a short course truck, a buggy, or a truggy? Or are you interested in on road drifting cars? And what size vehicle are you looking for? If you don't mind having a smaller 1/18 scale monster truck, I'd recommend Redcat Racing Volcano-18 V2. It's on sale on ebay for $42! The seller is Best Buy! I personally don't have that vehicle, but for 42 bucks it's a steal! There's also the Redcat Racing Cyclone XB10 for $75 on ebay if you're looking for a buggy. For $140, I think nitroRCX have some good short course trucks available, but they are slightly smaller than the other true 1/10 scale trucks on the market. My ECX Torment 2WD is 170 bucks on ebay.
