DIYers beware.. if its the ECU for the column that's faulty, it needs coding to the car and will trip the immobiliser! It is not a straight swap!

This is brilliant! Are you using 1 actuator with two solenoids per door?
@gavincorbould1831
@gavincorbould1831 28 күн бұрын
@@jamielowe3060Thanks! No, 1 solenoid for each actuator. Except for the bonnet - that's 2 actuators running off one solenoid.

@@gavincorbould1831 ah that makes sense. I think I tried that style of solenoid on my bonnet but decided with the weight to let gravity do the work.

@@gavincorbould1831 thanks! There’s a lot of parallels between the two cars. Found myself watching secret life of machines as I remembered Rex worked on that and used Brum in one or two episodes. Think your videos are the first ones I’ve seen with the body off.

Hi Gavin, Thanks for this video. I do have some questions that you may be able to answer for me. I am interested in using this Relay in one of my RC Submarines as the ballast tank control. So I want to ask whether this relay will do the job. The job is. I need to run a 12v washer pump that needs to only run in one direction. The pump turns on and pushes water into a sealed tank. The pump is then turned off and the line is blocked ( solenoid) . The boat is dived. Then to surface the solenoid is opened and the back pressure forces the water back out through the pump. This systems already works with a servo rolling against a”pinch” of the nitro water line, but I am looking at doing a more “elegant” mainly electronic way of doing it. Hence the solenoid and this Rc relay switch in the video. Is this doable? Would this relay do what I need it to do? What solenoid should I choose (preferably the smallest possible in both items. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. zerobubblemodeldesign.jimdofree.com/dive-cylinders-zb-1-and-zb-1-2/ Thankyou for your time…

How did the doors work? What things did you need inside?
@gavincorbould1831
@gavincorbould1831 2 ай бұрын
The doors work on pneumatic pistons that push the doors open and pull them closed. You need a tank of compressed air and a series of solenoids and relays, receivers and transmitters, pipes and wires and lots of pocket money to get everything working😄

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps the mechanism is seized somewhere else. With the motor disassembled the glass should move freely. Give it a wiggle and perhaps some wd40 on the mechanism. Hope you get it sorted 👍
