That samsho was actually nicer than the original xD I mean I get authenticity and all.. but these grey ones were low effort basic ass labels that were made for arcade operators who didn't care for artwork and was this as business only.

12:30 lol. that's a common trick by repairers to gain your confidence. They tell you to swap a part that's in a socket (in this case the ONLY chip in a socket other than the ROMs) and you think they are a good guy so when that doesn't work (and the guy knew it would not fix it) then you sent it off for repair and that guy makes money with an easy fix lol. Read my other comment here for the real cause of all the problems on these boards.

I've fixed over 500 of those boards (yes really). They all have the same general fault. Think about it.... your board was covered in literal *crap* and you wonder why it stops working??? lol. After years of abuse they all develop random broken connections due to the dust and crap sucking up moisture from the air and you get those areas corroding and then you get open connections. I had so many of these to repair that I fully reverse-engineered the whole board and made a proper schematic and I even re-produced the boards new.... a rotten board can be fixed but it will fail again somewhere else. btw, the thing you're calling a 'schematic' is just a very simple wiring harness diagram lol. The sound board issue is the LEAST of your problems. That's the kind of fault you want but even having the repro sound board won't help.... the real problem with Daytona is exactly the same as the sound boards..... random corrosion causing random broken traces or open vias at random locations. But Daytona is 10X worse since there are 2 large multi-layer boards plus ROM board and comm board. Eventually all Daytona boards will be dead due to the extreme amount of time it takes to find those open connections because no one is going to pay a professional repairer for tens or hundreds of hours to fix them. These are the types of faults that only a person who owns the game can do over a long period of time. Better get used to it as you're going to be doing it yourself eventually.....

Does Metal slug 4 work on your AES with converter? Mine does not I have a Daedalus mvs to Aes converter with unibios 3.1 and MS4 is the only game that gives me errors.

Can you play Double Dragon on AES/MVS mode (normal difficulty) choose Jimmy and not get a black flashing glitch around the 3/4th CPU stage? My board is a JP 3-5 recapped with a good Triad 9V 2.5A PSU on a stock bios and I'm trying to get to the bottom of why mine glitches. This is using a new NEOSD Pro from the this years (2024) batch using all flash slots, RAM slot, numerous SD cards of sizes and speed, cleaned the slot with IPA. It's a minor glitch and every other game is fine but it's annoying not knowing what causes it but was advised it could occur on the last batch of 2018. Thanks

Direct fit is a variant of the Seimitsu LS-30, but what you have done here isn't a terrible job really. You could use the shorter shaft and actuator from a different Seimitsu stick. The Seimitsu sticks usually come with a variant that has normal switches instead of attached to the PCB like that version.

This isn't a conversion, it is a bootleg. Nothing wrong with using EPROMs to make these bootlegs, i bet if you never opened it up you'd never even know it wasn't legit when you play it, it will not make one single bit of difference if it is done right. 063 is Samurai Shodown 2. Doesn't matter than those are there. Won't matter one bit. EDIT: I didn't watch to the end before i hit post. Samurai Shodown 2 was one of the most produced home carts SNK ever did, don't feel bad, it is still easy to find it even after 20 years + of being sacced for shit like this.

CHA256 is the same whether it is version B or version RY. PROGTOP would've been better suited to an EPROM split instead of wasting original mask ROMs on this hack. Those two boards don't garrantee it came from Samurai Shodown 2, other games used that combo, and that game didn't always have a PROG TOP in it.

That is a 100% bootleg in every sense of the word. Reproduction = bootleg. I have no issue with them, they do the job just fine.

The different coloured boards is completely normal, and LOADS of NEO-GEO games left the factory that way. Tons of games used the CHA256RY board, absolute shit loads did. Even more games used PROGBK1 boards. Do a bit of research on this, very easy to find that board set in loads of games. Very common games at that. There is nothing special about what you received there, it is quite shoddy soldering at best. The artwork is all wrong. Look how warped the boards are, i bet the M1 chip was perfectly fine, and he f***ed a track on the board with his butcher job soldering. The actual boards makes very little to no difference at all. Neither does the use of EPROMs. It is still a conversion or a bootleg, it still isn't a real original copy, you shouldn't be paying big money for it. They all work exactly the same whether they're real originals or not. The console couldn't care less what boards were used, it cares that the correct data ends up where it should when it should, and any board set can be made to achieve that provided it will handle the size of the ROM chip being used and the jumpers are configured to address the correct ROM chip size that gets installed. I don't understand why people are padding out videos with "unboxing" things. Skip it, get to the point!!!

Mine works with the cadet controller... what doesnt work is the colors... the pale yellow in mario 3 shows up as white. I have tried everything. Multiple hdmis... different tvs, only thing i havent tried is rca cables. My next attempt is probably rcas into an rca to hdmi adapter

Hi Mike, thanks for the cheat files. However I noticed some cheat doesn't work. For example, in Blazing Star, whenever i access the cheat menu, it soft reboot the system. Some games work, such as metal slug, aof, etc. Do you face the same issue, any solution appreciated. tq

Does anything change if we play with the multicart version for MVS? are the credits infinite? Can we use the coin machine? Thank you

Nice work. But I highly suggest you periodically clean your boards and fans. All that dust and dirt can't be good for your components. I've heard stories of chips overheating and failing because of the amount of dust ontop of them. Besides that, great work. Glad it's running again.

I have been using this supergun (with Neo-Geo DB-15 ports) for some years but never with 6 button games. Now I want to play "Super Street Fighter II X" (CPS-2) and need one of those pad adaptors to be able to use the 6 buttons in the game. I would like to buy the "Saturn2NeoGeo" adaptor but the Retroelectronik web is now down (have they closed the business?) and can't find any adaptor for sale anywere, no matter if it's for Saturn gamepads or SNES, PS, ... Where can I find one? Or at least, can someone tell me where to find the schematics to create the same adaptor for Saturn gamepads?

That mod is really cool. However I believe you are fully aware that, most important part of the mod (the wiring), is marginally considered in the video. And that's a real pitty... I would have been putted, at least, a link to the schematics in the description.
