@@deegee8032thank you for quick reply. How long is the working time?
@deegee80324 ай бұрын
There's not a set amount of time because there's a number of things that affect it. I only trowel out as much area as I can tile in about 15 - 20 minutes. Something that really helps is before you put the thinset down, pour water on the pan mortar bed and if the tile is clay tile, get it wet also. If the tile is porcelain, don't wet it, It doesn't absorb water. But you can smear the back of the tile with thinset to help it stick if the troweled thinset has started to set up. DG

Is it best to tile up against the drain cover or have the drain cover sit on top of the tile? Just thinking longer term of removing the cover or changing it later. Thanks for any thoughts on this.
@deegee80324 ай бұрын
The grill cover is removable to allow access to the drain. You don't want anything above the level of the tile because the water won't drain. Thanks for watching. DG

We watched the event in Dallas then headed south back to Houston about three hours after totality. We caught up to the conga line of viewers at Buffalo, just after intense hail had pounded the area. Lots of wind and rain but thankfully no ice bullets for us! Amazing pics, by the way. Looks and sounds like everyone had a great time! Thanks for sharing :)

Glad you were able to see it. I was considering stopping in the Dallas area, but the cloud forecast was looking a little better to the north of that. The hail hit at about 5:30 just south of Dallas and went from 0 to 100 in about 30 seconds. The first minute of hail was twice as hard as what I got on video. It was unbelievably loud. We had to yell just to hear each other. It's amazing to me that these two events about 3 hours apart can evoke such different emotions, awe and terror. Thanks for watching. DG

it's too slow or/and would be way too massive to be a satellite in high orbit. Cool screen though.
@CarbonRobloxide5 ай бұрын
That’s not a satellite, they move much faster. You would only get like one frame of it if it was a satellite.

Point a telescope at the sun without a solar filter (DO NOT LOOK WITH EYES) and then let the light from the telescope go onto paper far enough that it projects a big image.

Not a satellite. Far too big and the path is not smooth. More likely something like an escaped mylar balloon.

You're able to look through the binoculars with your eyes at the sun and it doesn't burn them?
@deegee80326 ай бұрын
Yes, the filter blocks the harmful levels of sunlight from going through the binoculars. It's very important to put the filters on the binoculars as shown and not hold up unfiltered binoculars when you have the glasses on your face. Thanks for watching. DG

Hey man, this is great video. I like your style of explanation. I know you have a answered many questions here already, however, I am hopeful that you will answer one more. You see, I am wanting to do this same process on my concrete slab foundation. My question is that for the pre slope bed, how high should make this? I'm going to use a flofx universal bonding flange on my 2" pvc drain. The curb is 6" tall. So I'm just confused of how tall to make the pre slope, then dry pack bed on top. So can you give me guidance on pre-slope height and the dry pack height for total height of pan? Thank you. 😎
@deegee80326 ай бұрын
On a concrete slab it doesn't need to be as thick. Something like 1 1/2" thick for the preslope and 1" thick for the mortar. I wouldn't have the curb more than about 4" tall because it's harder to step over. DG

Yeah if you push the okay button you'll get a confirmation window saying "up arrow reset, down arrow exit". The problem is if you hit up arrow it just ignores you and stays there. It never actually accepts the command to reset it.
@deegee80327 ай бұрын
Sorry this didn't help. When mine needed a reset, the tutorials didn't work either so I tried a few variations of those instructions until I found this worked. I think they change the procedures for each generation of printers. DG
