Great technology - Future technology I have a few questions at this stage: Regarding SaaS applications like Oracle ERP, I understand that customers would still need to perform ETL processes to transfer data into a MySQL database. Subsequently, replication would occur in MySQL HeatWave for data warehousing and operational reporting. Users would still need to design star schemas for reporting, as the OLTP and OLAP architectures differ. While it is beneficial that the same database is utilized, the data would still need to reside in separate areas within the database. Could you please confirm if my understanding of SaaS applications in this context is accurate? Concerning the MySQL Lakehouse for file processing, is it solely intended for machine learning purposes? I am interested in exploring the analytics and reporting capabilities for these files. Typically, clients require incremental file processing. While storing files in object storage without ETL is advantageous, how is incremental processing managed? Pre-processing would still be necessary to handle incrementality, avoid duplication, and ensure accuracy. Would a transformation tool still be required in this scenario? I would appreciate it if you could clarify my understanding regarding file processing. As for machine learning, I appreciate the transparency provided for machine learning models, allowing users to understand what occurs in the background. The autopilot feature is excellent.

I watched it, digested it and now I see that Oracle is going places with Heatwave and Gen AI. I love the part that we can now interact with MySQL in a ChatGPT-like method to quickly debug and draw quick inference on our data. Great job and thank you fo the Keynote !

I have existing single node MySQL, it almost full with over 500GB of pure databases, then I ordered another 5 identical-nodes for read-only, my question is, does this method is the best solution ? What is the different between ReplicaSet and ClusterSet ? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnjWepKsoK6Zo7s my first server have 4 SSDs with RAID 10, I want my other 5 nodes also 4 SSDs but I want to use RAID 5. Did I need ProxySQL ?

Yo leFred bro. I got me a site, and I'm tryna code my own login accounts. Trouble is I have very little experience with HTML & SQL & Web server/site script. Do I use a MySQL DB for the user account info?, and if so, where do I put this (python / or PHP or Pearl) connection code below, so I can add, update and remove the data?? My server is on MySQL 5.6 (Percona & InnoDB are mentioned too). And PHP 7.2 I think (I can't update versions myself). I would love somebody's help with this. Thanks. The site: I clean & edit audio, so the users would need to upload audio files and pay using their account, and I would upload the finished audio so they can access it from their account. #!/usr/bin/python print "Content-type:text/html " import MySQLdb try: conn = MySQLdb.connect ( host = "user.mypagemysql.com", user = "user", passwd = "*password*", db = "db_tester_1") except MySQLdb.Error, e: print "Error %d: %s" % (e.args[0], e.args[1]) sys.exit (1) print "connected to the database"

Lets say we have 2 clusters, a 3 node node primary cluster with a router and a 1 node replica cluster in another site also with a single router, both configured in a cluster set... what would happen if the router goes down in cluster 1?

Thanks for the video, Heatwave is a nice product, So my group wants to use it as soon as posible, however i have a problem when i try to create a dbsystem Heatwave with my own security certificate(SSL). I need to configure SSL certificate because my application code that is in AWS needs it to connect. this is the error: CREATE_DBSYSTEM Failed Code:CertificateNotFound Message: Error returned by Certificates service. Please ensure the certificate exists and that you have the appropriate policy in place to allow

The mtr_log_t enum in the mtr0types.h file, as of MySQL 8.0, includes the enumerators MTR_LOG_ALL, MTR_LOG_NONE, MTR_LOG_NO_REDO, and MTR_LOG_SHORT_INSERTS (the same as in version 5.7.44). The enum the presenter was referring to is actually mlog_id_t.

So why not just opt to use a CDC strategy with something like Apache Kafka and MySql Debezium connectors to stream and process the MySQL data accordingly for the different departments or data consumers? Stored procedures are good but I think we shouldn’t overuse them especially at such a large scale. Implementing lots of business logic in stored procedures for very large volumes of data can get hairy very quickly 🔥
