I just replaced my laptop battery; it's been the 3rd year since I got my Razer 15 . Recently, I noticed a noticeable bump on the back of the laptop. I unscrewed and disconnected the swollen battery. I bought a new battery for $160 from Razer support. If you're out of warranty, avoid shipping your device to them; it takes forever. I used the laptop directly on power for 4 weeks before they finally located a replacement battery in their warehouse. While Razer laptops look impressive, I'm starting to think they're not worth the high price tag. In the end, I'd suggest going for a more affordable laptop and getting a gaming core - it'll work just fine.

ASUS is the world's largest maker of motherboards and accounts for around 40% of the global market and honestly quality wise, they honestly aren't that good. You generally pay more for less just because they have that name recognition but they definitely don't give you the best value for the money. Gigabyte, MSI, and EVGA all give you better value for you money in their motherboards and I think they are all better options than ASUS are at this point.

You've encountered a known issue with the Z690 boards: Out of the box, they will not work with the 13-series CPUs. They all need a BIOS reflash, and you can only get that done if you've got a 12-series CPU or you've got a mobo that supports a bios flash without the CPU. That EVGA board should be excellent. I have nothing but good things to say about every single EVGA product I've owned, and there have been a lot of them! They're all top-shelf. You pay more for them, but they're solid.

The evga classified board is miles better than the trash asus board you had. Just flash the bios to the latest version & it works perfectly.
