rewatching this, I wish the mixing segment was expanded an playing at normal speed. I'm very interested in your approach to mixing as your results always sound very nice even after yt's compression. I noticed that you're doing HP filtering on most tracks, and I heard somewhere that could cause phase issues so I tried to stop doing it everywhere, but it's hard to keep the low-end become muddy and busy without it. What are your thoughts?

Yep..... I like it........ I was Going to send you a track i was struggling to complete but then i worked on it a bit more and figured it out. Its still not complete but closer to the finishing point. Ive been putting a lot of pressure on myself to finish all the music i have started but im still learning so ive decided to just have fun with it . I used to DJ so ive bought a drum machine (MPC) so it feels more like a performance rather than sitting in front of the computer. Cheers mate. Keep it up. ♥

Your music is beautiful and you're quickly becoming one of my favorite music production KZbinrs! Is there any chance in future videos you could go into a little more detail? As someone who's learning, it would be really helpful to know which presets/instruments you're using and also to hear more about the musicality like which chords you're using and your thought process on how you landed on a specific key, chord progression and melody for example! Thanks keep it up!!
@itsblank664 күн бұрын
thank you so much! <3 you're right, I would have liked to see things more in detail too when I was just starting out, now I do stuff without thinking that's why I don't stop to talk about chords and and musicality. But I surely will make a video with a more in depth explanation

Well I can do only 16 max tracks and have to layer in instrument rack. So a good challenge for me

When I was starting out with Ableton Live I only had Ableton Live Lite which limits you to 8 tracks. Having that limitation made me learn so many creative ways of using Ableton Live that I wouldn't have taken the time to learn otherwise. Chain selection, racks, modulation clips, etc... Good job on the song. Now it just needs the reese. :)
@itsblank664 күн бұрын
so true! we need to challenge ourselves more often. Thank you! I added the reese in the end, coudn't resist eheheh

It has a lot of possibilities but is fine the way it is as a good tune should be😉 You could add more parts or a hook part in there somewhere to make it even more memorable and increase playbacks if that is your intention, as a guitarist, I can say without doubt a fancy guitar part would fit in there, but I would always think that😄 It will be interesting to see what you decide to do with it maybe you will make a follow-up video on it. Good to see you feeling better you look great😊

u don't need AI backup, your voice is velvet and sounds better on its own. using AI opens u up to copyright strikes in the future, and u will regret it.
@itsblank6621 күн бұрын
thank you for the compliment! but I don't agree, it really depends on what service you use, if the AI platform has licensed vocals (like Audimee) you won't have any problems or copyrights strikes.

How do you handle splice loops? do you chop them or otherwise alter them. While they are royalty-free if someone else uses the same unaltered one it can lead to problems I have seen. Any potential AI voice issues I have no idea about at this point but I know services that process know tunes and produce similar ones can cause problems as well, potentially. I would try this as a way to build a tune and maybe replace it with a live singer at some point if it is good enough, then again if I could get the voice to really sing why bother, like I always say life is like a remix anything is possible. Your tune has some interesting lyrics and a good flowing melody and beat so you never know, thanks for your musical insight and the daw, and glad you are feeling better 😘
@itsblank6625 күн бұрын
happy you like it! regarding splice loops, it depends on the beat, most of the times I alter them in some way, but I also just use them as they are if I really like the sample! never had problems with them honestly. also, Audimee only has licensed vocals so you won’t have problems with those either!
