This is lovely! But there actually was a HUGE zine culture in the 90s, especially feminist zines, inspired by the Riot Grrl movement. Internet did not really become as accessible and ubiquitous until the late 90s/ early 2000s.

Still wondering.... Any hints? One idea: Maybe the pencil work was animated separately, on flat, stable sheets, then overlaid onto a still or very stable "moving" shot of the underlying zine? The erasure animations are also impressive. Love the palimpsest look of that passage!
