@@notmeowth Phonk is from 90s south hip hop mainly taking influence from the greats in Memphis, and chopped and screwed music. Mondren day Phonk/ Lo-fi stems from that.

@@Mac-MDC yes i am fully aware of what phonk is and was and what memphis is. this song however, isnt phonk or memphis. the genre of this song (shampoogod - final samurai) is holy trap. if u have heard holy trap before, which i doubt because its extremely underground, u would know because most of the beats in this obscure subgenre of trap are very similar to this one were commenting on right now. holy trap and phonk are very related tho. but try listening to: - cight - injury - cight - asia - netcast - wheredowego - klnv - never wanted to be - misogi - clairvoyant - tones_ x redux - aquatic base all of these songs are holy trap. ofc its gonna be similar to phonk but theres clearly a difference. now listen to phonk (soudiere, 6-6-6, kloudbug, idk what u listen to) and u will hear which of the 2 genres this song is. this doesnt even have any acapella samples, which is a core aspect of phonk. also u are saying that didnt exist before this song, but the peak of the popularity of phonk (before it started to become cowbell copypastes) was around 2015-2016, which is about the same time this song was made.
