Heads up to everyone, ARP does not recommend putting lube on the washer. According to them it causes 'inconsistent preloads'.

@justsomeguy7410 well I read the instructions and it says you should put lube on the washers so it should be fine now.

And same with the rear end
@jamesthornton82364 ай бұрын
The rear end is a Mosier Ford 9 inch for a 93-02 Fbody cut down 3” per side. I’m pretty certain it came from Spohn Performance. I pulled it off of another F body that was used for drag racing. That car was purchased off of Facebook marketplace as well. I took a lot of the aftermarket parts off of it and put it on my car and then took all of the stock stuff off of my car and put it back on the roller and sold the roller and got most of my money back. “Wheelen and dealin”
@mattotsagain4 ай бұрын
What suspension you use, where you get the parts?
@jamesthornton82364 ай бұрын
The car has Viking dual adjustable Coilovers on the front and Viking dual adjustable shocks on the rear. Those were purchased secondhand off of Facebook marketplace.

You can get spacers for that water pump and use the truck pulley. Are you going to cut the cowl? That truck intake won’t fit unless you do. Also, I’m not sure if you have the hood clearance for the truck intake.

Nice vid and sweet parts, dude! Just did poly MM in my T/A and it was a PITA (motor still in car) lol. Also I couldn’t really tell in the video, but hopefully that starter is the “truck/updated style” would be a shame to see that beaut take a hit from a no good short ear style one
@GreatestHITS265 ай бұрын
It’s the f body starter so it should work.
@aceofaces64525 ай бұрын
Well, just in case, here’s some threads on it if you aren’t aware. It’s only a problem on LS1 cars and some early trucks that had one short “ear” and one long “ear” from what I’ve gathered, most others had the updated starter. ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/1152155-ls1-block-broke-starter-mount-no.html You can either do the LS3 starter or a 6.0 truck starter, just make sure the number of teeth match the one you have, IF you want to upgrade. Also, the LS3 starter is lighter but will have a pigtail you’ll have to install on the fbody (one wire) whereas the truck one is plug-n-play but heavier. ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/1578054-5-3-starter-fit-ls1-fbody.html#post16658287 I ended up going with a Pure Energy 6492SN ‘06 Silverado 6.0 starter from RockAuto, oh and make sure to get another long bolt as well.

That passenger side clamp is installed wrong. The piece that sits between the band that the bolt goes through needs to be rotated 90 degrees or it’ll never really tighten like it should.

You need a better gear & a torque converter I haven’t watched all your vids yet but that 60ft should be better in an auto. And as far as the burnout goes try a smaller burnout when using street tires just to clean them off so they aren’t over heated. Unless you burnout for fun which is always good haha
