Even the scene with Mrs. Nightshade was top notch. I love how lightening strikes right when she looks back, and the way it lights everything up. Absolutely cinematic gold! And combine it with her attire, the music, the setting & the conversation she just had with Mr. Holloway. I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love it. The mirror scene is also excellent too along with many other parts of this movie.

Whatever happened to the child star Vidal Peterson who played Will Halloway? I thought both he and Sean Carson ,who played Jim Nightshade, were very good. I thought the scene in the Hall of Mirrors where Charles Halloway (Jason Robards) smashes thru the portal where his son Will Halloway (Vidal Peterson) is shown drowning & Charles grabs his hand and pulls him out & they embrace was very poignant. Charles Halloway atoned for his regret at his inability to do this act when Will was 4 yrs old and caught in a dangerours current in the Indigo river & all Charles could do was watch someone else (Harry Nightshade, Jim NIghtshade's dad) save his son.

Никогда не понимал творчества Майка, да в рокенрольнлй тусовке он был в большом почете, но я никогда не понимал его, да была группа Зоопарк, хорошая группа, но я не понимал ее, может быть нужно было перечислить и понять его философию и ритмы, но я не понимал его. I watched L’Argent and Lancelot and part of me doesn’t like Bresson’s slow, minimalist style and think he’s just one of those ‘pretentious canon’ type of directors in film. But…I for some reason…really like those films?? I really like him and what he says…it’s very strange to have a weird gravitation towards someone and their body of work that you normally wouldn’t care for. That is cinema

It’s like being friends with someone you don’t like just based on impressions but the closer you get to them then you see things from their perspective but you also want to maintain your obligation to your initial feelings of them? Maybe I need to read more on Bresson

@@PeoplesScience Definitely, I understand you completely. But he's not pretentious. His art is mostly about human morality and corruption. The reason why his cinematography is mechanical is because life itself is mechanical. Youre not really free, you do what are supposed to do. Not breathe? Not eat? Not live without water? Don't need money? It's impossible. Our desires are mechanical and political in nature. Whatever we do is to please subjects for validation. Try giving money to poor people everyday. One day you will stop because the cause will have betrayed you and you are once again forced by realities of life, became mechanical again.
