Instead of tying the two shirts together and then covering over that with fabric, I think it would be easier (and faster too) to just loop them together as you can two rubber bands! 💕

I'm so glad i came across your post and i have a nearly 3 wk old and a 1yr old and no double buggy so can't get out as much as we need to unless the dad is pushing one of the prams with me so this would be perfect! I'm just hoping I can carry a new born in it? could i ? I'm not to sure now as it seems more for the age of 4mos and up...? i can only but try in house and if it doesn't feel right i will wait till she in month age b4 I do but again thnku!

So she made a K’tan which sell second hand for around $20, $40 new. How much are you really saving? I love crafts and baby wearing but I learned a long time ago that making something yourself is very often not cheaper than buying it and the only real reason to do it is if you can make something better which this is not in my opinion. 3 XL t-shirts are probably around $10 each. If you’re using old shirts then that’s just flat out a safety issue as the fabric could be so thin it tears or the seams come apart because you just cut them and didn’t hem up the ends. I get trying to save money and this is a legit carrier style but it doesn’t seem cheaper and it’s just ugly. Buy $5 ring slings and take a decently long towel and make a no sew ring sling if you have a long enough towel you can just tie a slip knot. There are much safer diy alternatives.
