To be fair, we don't know many that are fully waterproof. But it could definitely be improved in future editions. At least it's quick and easy to unpack to dry out.

@ComfortablyLostАй бұрын
Does pretty good. Next build we'll do without the awning. Solar panels on roof can be shrouded off to hide side view. Also happy with the decision to not have an external LPG/propane access hatch and vent through the floor instead through the internal box. Less places for rust to form and also cleaner look.

It'll depend on the mix and conditions/temps too. Best to do a test mix and play around with the air pressure and spray settings on a test area before hitting the vehicle with it.

Any information out there on painting OVER Bullyliner. That is, a tutorial on what paint, prep used for painting OVER the liner once you are finished with the Bullyliner job. Say...when you want some other color. Thanks, I want the protection and effect but in white (OR) an Acrylic metalic color. Wondering how that texture will look when combined with a metallic finished coat. Thanks! I called the company and they said they did not produce white as yet.

The car was sold a couple of years ago, but we've seen it driving around and it still looks good even though it's now a bush basher at a remote community! Yes approx 8L to do the whole vehicle, but it was cutting it close. Could have used an extra 1-2L to get everything coated thoroughly.

Nice video! I'm using the same gun, grey bully liner at 90 psi but the paint is splitting bulk paint. Not as smooth as yours. I checked the paint from the bottle they are shaken and smooth. Not sure what is the reason. 😟

Hrm, could be a bad nozzle/gun, not enough constant pressure, not mixed enough, bad batch, too warm/cool..? We sprayed in on warm, dry days around 28-30 degrees C and low humidity. Give the guys at Bully a call and see what they can suggest. It's usually really easy to apply, so there's definitely something weird going on! Let us know how you get on with it.

Yeah it's pretty tricky with a big high roof van! We carry a 2m telescopic ladder in our van for cleaning the roof and solar panels. Might be a solution? Keep it simple.
@melanieprice27302 жыл бұрын
Yes spot on. It's a good mid range awning and have one myself and use it regularly on the south west coast where it is very windy. As with anything canvas it has its limits and I have been caught out in strong winds in the early hours packing it away in the dark before the Troopy is blown away. No matter what awning you use it will flap around and shake your vehicle in heavy winds and that makes it very difficult to get a good nights sleep. Also it does help if you are 6'8" when packing it away on a Troopy.
@ComfortablyLost2 жыл бұрын
Yeah a milk crate would have been a good idea to carry with us! Our Troopy wasn't even lifted and it was still a stretch to reach up to it. 🤙
@busterhoodstar44472 жыл бұрын
Of course you shouldn't have to, but you could easily cut your own aluminum side supports for the awning.

can i please ask what the stuff on your back windows is called and where i might get it from. Awesome van
@ComfortablyLost3 жыл бұрын
It's called "perforated one way vision window film". We bought a 2m roll of it from an online seller on ebay, made a template and then applied it ourselves. Trim the excess with a new razor blade and also spray some detergent/water mix onto the clean glass first so you can move it around before it dries and stays stuck. It's a lot easier to work with than it sounds. Works great! After 5 years it's still 99% intact with only a few imperfections from being scratched. We will probably peel it off and put a new window cling on there next year to freshen it up. Hope this helps!

@ComfortablyLost3 жыл бұрын
Our van is 2WD/RWD. Up until recent years MB didn't sell the 4x4 version of the Sprinter in Australia. The only way you could get them was via aftermarket 2WD>4WD conversions which were fairly fraught with issues and costs. Our RWD gets us everywhere we want to go with it.. for the places the van doesn't go, we went there with our Landcruiser Troopy instead! Check our other videos for a tour of that one.

Any time we have brake caliper lock up on sprinter van I would replace the slider pins as the plastic guide on the steel slider (one plastic guide on each side top side ) wear hence the caliber is not being pushed out square with the disc which cause it to lock up

Lovely build, thanks for sharing. I'm just about to do something similar to my 2015 berlingo. I was wondering, how did you navigate the foot wells on the floor behind the front seats when installing your frame? They floor seems quite flimsy there as there is a covered floor storage compartment and inside that is also quite flimsy. Does your car have those? If so, how did you create a firm floor base to support your bed frame in that area please? 😊
