Thank you - You just explained EVERYTHING I was looking for. I am doing my own Turbo tubing and have to do some weird turns, it seemed every video only talked about it or went into a geometry lesson. Thank you - for taking this straight to the point.

I’m trying to patch a hole in a motorcycle engine. Neptune tig rode would be perfect for that job.?And if so what diameter and weight rod would it be? Diameter 1/6,3/32, or 1/8? Weight 1lb, 5lb, or 11lb?
@4x4fabshop6 ай бұрын
I like 1/16 and a pound should get it. Just watch your heat and get it as clean as you can. Preheated.

You will eventually tire of opening the latch and lifting the pin, and fill in the hole for the pin at the latched position.

Good vid. I have a machinest and welder tig welding my aluminum BMW block. It blew a head gasket and a piece of the aluminum in between cylinders 1 and 2 blew off with the head gasket I suppose. Anyway he seems pretty confident in this fix. In your opinion how dependable will this be as far as a daily driver after his tig welding fix?

@@4x4fabshop I want to say the base. Where the large tube sets into the base. Or at the fitting of the pump. I haven’t really looked. I set it up. Used it. Then stored it away and noticed a puddle on the ground below it

I'm guessing you can't weld the merge together at this point or you won't be able to weld all around the four tubes that go into it. You'd have to leave the merge tacked, then tack the tubes in place, then cut the merge tacks to be able to weld the four tubes all the way around, then put the merge back together and weld the spike from the inside. Correct?
@4x4fabshop Жыл бұрын
You nailed it. Welding it is as much work as cutting it. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

hardest part of pies is holding the stinking things. and doing multiple pipes with 60+. where to start first? a nice fat heavy old school tape dispenser, with a nice fat gap just behind the blade so you can get your finger under the tape... hard to find these days! had to take to mine with an endmill. seriously, youll know what i mean once you start taping a few pies together. if you really get into it, best to make a jig. i have two v block clamps, one slides and is adjustable. both mounted on a saddle that swivels to stops and just clamps in the saw vice. rock the pipe side to side rather than flip it over. i can talk, i still use a bandsaw. yuk. terrible on pipe. really do need a coldsaw... mark the seam off to something half the pipe diameter, always line them up on center, then theres no issue with using the five left from last time...
