Hi. The white paper background is a perfect idea. A very informative video also. I have a n allotment with quite a few blackcurrant bushes where I wait for the first buds to appear then those which don’t bud I guess are old branches. I’ve saved this video as it’s very easy to watch & follow. Many thanks Eva. Derick.

This is when you get cut happy, omg no this shrub is ruined it was going to be so thick and beautiful and big !!! I understand cut the dead wood but this reminds me of going to a hair stylist and you ask for a trim and walk out with a Bob

I just cut my one that was out of control quite viciously..I couldn't see buds as low down as I wanted to go (ie 30/40 cm high), and that's worrying me! Those thick branches hide the buds, (if they have any good ones) very well compared to the young growth where i can see little white forms (and even full leaves up higher.). Should I have only cut where I saw the white buds higher up? (they were on much thinner stems)

Beautifully explained and all caught on camera - great photography, editing and nice, relaxing, soothing music. A very tastefully produced video. I will like and subscribe for sure. In conclusion - super attention to detail! Finally, I would like to see the end result of that rather drastic haircut of that shrub, please. If at all possible?
@naturesensegardening50023 ай бұрын
Hi, yes it feels drastic, but I like the blooms to be in my eye level. I have the follow up footage, just don't have time to edit my videos anymore. But you can see photos on my Instagram account, with the same name. Eva

what happens if the plant already has buds on it?
@naturesensegardening5002 Жыл бұрын
Hi, it is ok if the buds are starting to appear. I would still prune it down, just leave 2 pairs of buds on each cane (4 buds total). These will grow into new canes which will produce flowers. Eva

very well made video - I feel pretty confident taking on the pruning of my black currant bushes now. My only other comment is to, perhaps, have the lovely music a little quieter. I had to lower volume for music and raise it for speaker. I will look for more videos from you.

Hi Anita, thank you for your kids words. There is still plenty of snow here, so skiing is about the only thing we can do in our free time. I am amazed with your beautiful flower bouquets, that you create from your flower garden. I am slowly starting to prep seeds for the flower beds, still few weeks to go... enjoy the last few weeks of your growing season, love your last video with the gorgeous dahlias for the wedding party. Cheers, Eva.

Hi, thank you for watching. Once you plant the shrub in its final spot, let it get established and prune it only when it gets to the desired height. Eva
