Where I'm from, it takes weeks for them to do something like this. Worse yet, they do it during the day and close the entire lane when traffic is heavy.

Only thing i see could b more efficient for operator is casting beads. Can you not "drag" the automatic beader at the end of a pass so u dont have to hand cast? And 2nd pass on head...y hand cast at end of 2nd pass when 3rd pass covers it? I do things a little different but your arrow looks good brother.

Was watching the street department here in Fresno put down that slurry seal last summer. What I didn't understand, is why don't they run a normal wheel compactor over it, rather than just depend on traffic?

I remember as a kid, salvaging the old reflectors whenever they would resurface the highways. I'd take a gasket scraper tool, and remove the old asphalt and two part resin epoxy, so as to reuse them for projects I was building. As a kid, I always found something to do, because we didn't sit in front of the TV all day. I miss those times.
