@@solopiano There’s a few things going on here: You’re hearing 3 pianos. The acoustic piano is barely there, only used for the room sound and EQ’d quite drastically so that only 1.5k-3k is popping out. I will say, it is an exceptionally fantastic Yamaha C1. Properly cared for and maintained. Those Earthworks microphones are also incredible; coupled with the Neumann 103, it’s a fantastic microphone setup. The primary sound you’re hearing is a blend of Nord’s ‘White Grand’ and Keyscape’s ‘Classical Piano’. I generated the MIDI file from the C1’s retrofitted Disklavier system and then spent about 2 months tweaking everything so natural chorus and phasing were eliminated. The microphone setup, as well as the audio files from the Nord and Keyscape (once they were ready) we’re all routed through my outboard setup which includes AMS Neve front end and Manley VariMu compression. I’ve been called crazy. And they’re right. But it sound so good!

The result is perfect! It doesn't matter how long it took, respect. In the bass it really sounds like a freshly tuned C7 grand piano, totally awesome. With the higher tones, I had the suspicion that there might be a sample involved, because a grand piano recorded live has more sustain. I would be very happy to see more great music videos from you.
