@@Oysters176 Yes it can be annoying when multiple species have the same or similar common names. That is why I try to use the species name in the title or descriptions where possible.

How can you tell if you have an edible variety I have lots of different Canna lilies, but I also know that I have a Queensland arrowroot somewhere amongst them
@Edible_Jungle_Nursery
@Edible_Jungle_Nursery Ай бұрын
Hi mate, I don't grow the standard Canna lily types but I assume if you dug them up they would probably hava a different rhyzome. Might be worth starting with fresh material if you are wanting to eat them however to avoid ID mistakes.

Who knew?? Thank you. I saw this plant(sesbania grandiflora)growing in a flower pot & thought it was a gift from a bird. Almost uprooted it but the feeling to keep it was so strong I looked it up in an app on my phone that kept saying “dicots” 2wks later it’s bigger & I’m in love with it & the app says legume &😅 I saw your video- thank you so much.

@Edible_Jungle_Nursery
@Edible_Jungle_Nursery Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, yes this food forest is about 2-3 years old so the soil is pretty good now. It also depends on the variety you grow. Some sweet potatoes will have tubers at the surface and some will have them deeper.

Generally 9-12 months depending on variety and growing conditions. If you leave it longer than 12 months they tend to get very woody and fibrous.

This video was a total game-changer for me! Living in an apartment, I never thought I could have a green thumb. But with your step-by-step instructions for planting lucerne, I was able to create a small garden in my apartment courtyard. And now that I've got some greenery going, I'm hoping to bring in some livestock soon (fingers crossed the body corporate doesn't mind). It would be amazing to see a video from you on keeping livestock in an urban environment. Thank you for making gardening accessible for apartment dwellers like me!

I had a basil bush, and I thought it was just like any other basil bush. Boy, was I wrong. I thought pruning it would help it grow better, but it became a monster. It grew so much, it took over my house, my neighborhood, and eventually the whole city. People were calling it the "Basil-pocalypse." I had to call in the Armed Forces to contain it. The government had to declare a state of emergency. It was all over the news. But, on the bright side, I now have enough basil to last me a lifetime. And I even started my own basil-based empire, selling basil-flavored everything. I'm now a billionaire, but I still can't go home, because, well, it's a basil jungle now.

We have a big brown snake that travels through there but hes very relaxed. He goes through to eat the rats under the chicken pen so he has his place in the system. As long as you make some noise as you approach you generally won't startle them and they will move on.
