It can, It's mostly CPU intensive unless you crank the resolution above 1080p, at 1080p and around 32 chunks render distances with all fancy settings you are going to have a good 60fps, water is a little difficult to handle so you may drop below 60, I'm telling you this becouse we have a server and one of the player has a 1060.

I have found a shaders which seems to have screen space path tracing because it definitely has path tracing but its free and in the settings, there is a option call sspt, don't know but the shaders is kappa shader v4.0
