Hi Friedemann, I believe I do understand your reasoning behind the 32 bit workflow, it makes sense. The question I have is this : my audio interface is 24 bit only. My daw internal processing is set at 32 bits. So, when I record my guitar for example, do I get the same 32 bit advantage or do I absolutely need a 32 bit audio interface? In the manual it says the external side chain is enabled when connecting a TRS to the side chain port. Does the compressor “know” when it’s receiving signal through the side chain or does it activate it even without receiving any signal? It might be a dumb question but all my compressors have a button to activate the side chain that way it can be off and I can have all the cables in the back going to the patchbay and choose when to patch in the side chain. How would this work I. The xpressor? Can I still connect everything to the patchbay? All inputs, ext out and side chain ?

Hey I love the video and I learned a lot. Question though, how could a peak not contain important musical information such as a drum transient or a louder melody part? I'm just wondering what you mean when you differentiate between good peaks and the so called "stupid peaks" haha

Cool tutorial -- thanks! I like your approach to fixing phase issues: I like the quality sound of the RSPhaseShifter, as well, though I wonder if MAAT could update the plugin to include more bands and the other features that you outsourced here... being true to the emulated unit is great, but five (+) bands, q settings, a built-in per-band phase correlation meter and M/S routing options could make this plugin a real powerhouse in 2024!

19:16 I think there‘s no double kicks there, but the kick hits (a series of dotted 16th notes?) are interwoven with the bass line rhythmically, which can give the impression of a series of fast kick hits.

It is comparison between eq curves and harmonics, could be done without compressors at all.

I wish to understand to which signal is passing through the control chain: as far as I know, xpressor has just one side chain detector, so I suppose it reacts to L+R mono signal, isn't it? If I am right, i am wondering if it is suitable for mastering purpose or if is it better to have an Oxford stereo mode, in which there are two detectors with their outputs in parallel. This video and comparison makes no sense. The compressors literally practically DO NOT work. They need to be compared with stronger compression/operation - only then will it become clear - Who is the winner. Just listen to HOW the new version of "Tiger Mix Ultra Flat" works and sounds AA (with a choice of different models). You will be very surprised by the 3D Sound.

Come on... levels and settings are off and hence this is not a fair comparison
