Will droplets fall on the lid if hung upside down for 15-30 minutes?

I wonder if your cells will be contaminated with bacteria/fungus as you pick the colony outside the hood. How would you do if you have to pick the clones in a hood without microscope (we don't have that kind of microscope in the building)?

How many suspension times is enough to create the adequate clump size? Do you use a 5ml or 10ml pipette for this?
