I find it a bit chilling that those linoleum tiles you see under your feet onboard are the same patterns as you would have seen on Titanic's first class reception room and dining saloon.

Another beautiful collection you seem to get very lucky on sniffing out people wanting to sell their collections . As I said before, I’ve started collecting now I’ve got quite a few but not many from the vintage era as just getting into the hobby. I’m going to Sandown Park toy fair perhaps see you there. 😊

another brilliant video and another superb selection of toys, nothing evokes my 60s/70s childhood better than matchbox superfast, those boxes alone transport me back to 1970 or 71, my fantastic parents bought me those lovely cars when i was a young boy so the nostalgia is massive! i agree re the 50s yanks, cars were truly works of art back then and the dinky replicas are equally as gorgeous, i have the export version(i think) of the corgi gift set number 48(a lidded box with artwork obviously) and it's one of my prized items, i love your enthusiasm it is truly infectious! thanks again for a great video and best wishes

Hi Im viewing from New Zealand. Im in my sixties in age , so i spent my childhood in the 1960s. I had various makes of metal diecast toys then. Dinky, Corgi , Spot On and Matchbox cars. I like the Citroen CV2 model and the Renault 16. I remember owning a Dinky Hillman Imp in red . I think it would be very rare today. From Carl.

brilliant video as usual, someone recently remarked on here that the value of these wonderful old toys will decline as people die off and interest drops as these old vehicles slip further back into obscurity, i disagree, stuff like this is absolutely stunning and will only increase in value in my opinion, one only has to look at second world war memorabilia to perhaps reinforce my point, not a totally appropriate comparison but i'm sure you get my drift, the artwork is stunning and i can see why the values can be doubled if a decent box is present, i have an ecurie ecosse set myself albeit with a repro box but mint original models(no paperwork sadly), those stangs are beautiful, nearly as good as the real thing! i too love dinky but i think the corgis of the 60s were arguably the greatest toys ever, the sheer quality and workmanship and as already stated that dazzling artwork, superb, thanks

Whenever I see these 'boneyard' pictures and videos the thing I think of is all the work that went into the design of each plane. The tooling that had to be created for their construction. The detailed testing for each line number produced. The supply chain that had to be established and maintained. I think of all the contract wrangling that must have taken place. All the meetings, meetings and more meetings needed to work out every last detail. Meetings that were often contentious as rival factions within a company fought over this or that issue. The river of deadines that had to be met. And finally the Next Big Thing, the New Shiny Object enters service. Then in a relatively few years, with the drop of a crude steel blade from a crane, or the beating administered by a backhoe, they are reduced, in a few minutes, to soda can material.
