I’ve done a lot of research lately and a lot of it says to keep humidity between 30-50 to help protect against bacterial disease.
@coopzreptilesКүн бұрын
Hello ! Yes that's correct 😊 30-50% is ideally what you want for the majority of the time and then mist occasionally boosting the humidity level to around 50-60%. Once I mist the enclosure I don't mist again until the humidity has dropped down to 30% for a period of time :) but yeah too much humidity would lead to Bacterial diseases and / or Respiratory infections... which obviously you don't want ! Appreciate the comment and support 👌✌️😎

Nice one mate, I love my spur-thighed tortoise. He’s 17 now and for the first 8 years was kept inside. He’s now got a 30 square foot pen outside in the garden during day time and a nice heated 4x3x2 enclosure at night. Really nice species. I’d say my tortoise goes crazy over pellets and dandelions! Cuttle fish is also a nice favourite up there😮

Maybe im just lucky, but my 17 yo corn snake has never been fed outside of her enclosure except for once a year when my mom would take her to class to show the students (she taught science and desensitized both students and their parents to snakes for decades.) Pyro is incredibly sweet, and though i wouldnt do it unless my carbon monoxide alarm went off, she's even tolerant of being pulled out of her favorite hide. In fact, i would say my other, 8 yo corn snake, who was taken out of her enclosure for every feeding until she came to live with me about 8 months ago, is far more aggressive... And by aggressive i definitely just mean scared when i reach in. She's never struck at me. She's gotten better in the last 6 months, but she wouldnt eat for nearly 6 weeks when i got her, and now she only kind of pulls away if i touch her rather than rattling her tail like a diamondback and flinging herself to the opposite end of the enclosure like she did when i got her.

Would love to see the final results!! ✌️👌 Regarding yoyr question on chemicals in silicon / foam. The main thing you want to look out for is somthing called "nurotoxins" the expanding foam / silicon needs to be 0% neurotoxin. The best silicon to use (which is what I use) is the product called HA6 silicone and as for the expanding foam I get best results with the gorilla foam which is in a red can. The foam I used in this video was a differnt brand which I can't remember what it was called.😅 Hope this information is helpful to you ! 🙂 Thank you for watching the video ! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰✌️

Good question, It all depends on what you want to go inside really... this spesific build came to around £600 (that included the enclosure itself and an LED light) the main bulk of the cost is the building materials and obviously all the bits and bobs like plants, substrates, wood ect. We'll worth it though, lasts a very long time 👌 drop us a message on Instagram or Facebook if you have an idea in mind and I'd ve happy to try work you out a more specific estimate to what you'd want :)

Looks good but the Waterfall would have looked much better coming in from the back wall that way the curve of the wood could really be appreciated. The splash would make a cool ripple moving towards the front of the enclosure and that would help with proper water movement as well. With your waterfall so close, the glass will always be wet and that view won’t ever be as clear as it could be. Just my thoughts. Great build

I love teh enclosure and plan to try and recreate one like this in the future. Also how are you supposed to clean it or like if the filter malfunctions how will you remove it?
@coopzreptilesАй бұрын
Thank you ! Glad to hear you likw the build !! I hope your build goes well for you ! ✌️ its really good fun, quite therapeutic too ! 😊 Regarding your question about cleaning the pump and if the pump/ filter malfunctions, i ran the cable for the pump in a plastic tubing which was then hidden as apart of the background. I do this at 34:40 in the video :) if there was a problem, all they would need to do is simply unwired the plug for the pump and simply pull the wire through which h will allow the pump to be fully removed for maintenance or if there was a problem. This prevents them from having to break the background just to remove the wire for the pump / filter. Once they fix the problem or finish cleaning the pump / filter all they would simply have to do is feed the cable back up through the tubing which they pulled the cable out from and the cable will pop out at the top of the enclosure and then simply re-wire the plug back on to the cable :) I planned this into the build to ensure they wouldn't have to break the background :) hope this information is helpful to you ! Feel free to message our social page with a picture of your enclosure once it's done !! Love seeing how people's build end up looking 👌✌️

Hi,would the same apply for red eyed tree frogs .
@coopzreptilesАй бұрын
Hello, yes these frogs have very similar care requirments. The only major differnce between this species and the red eyed tree frog species is that the red eyed tree frogs require higher humidity than the white tree frogs do. This is because they come from differnt climates and locations in the world. White tree frogs only require around 30-50% humidity where as red eyed tree frogs require around 60-80 %. But the red eyed tree frog setup is virtually the same :) hope this is helpful ! 😊

What about there poop, how is that cleaned and is it a pain in the ass❓
@coopzreptilesАй бұрын
That's a very good question ! It's definitely something which I didn't go over within this video. So thanks for dropping this comment ! 😊 Now to answer your question, first of all I'ts a pretty straight forward process to clean there poop, although I will say it can be quite smelly 😅 I'd suggest getting a poop scoop so you can scoop up there poop which is on the substrate and then you can dispose of it easily. This is a simple way to spot clean there poop. Now if they poop on an item which is within your enclosure (for example on top of a hide) you can first of all use toilet roll to remove the majority of the poop and then either remove this hide (or object) and give it a good rinse off or use a reptile disinfectant spray like F10 which will disinfect any left overs which was left on that surface after using the toilet roll. If it goes on the walls of the viv or if you have dirty walls because your bearded dragon has smeared dirt or poop on them, you can use a reptile safe disinfectant spray such as F10 to disinfectant the walls of the viv. Hope this infomation is helpful to you and i hope it answers your question !! I will also make a video on how to properly clean a bearded dragon enclosure ! ☺️ Thank you for your comment !! 😊✌️

Sorry but I have to disagree with number one 😅 I was also enticed to buy bearded dragons as I have heard they are easy to take care for but boy was I in for a ride. The first bearded dragon I got (as a hatchling) was a very feisty one, loves to whip his tail and spread his poop all over the enclosure and under it's tail, and would hiss and open its mouth the moment I just put my hand inside the enclosure (to clean or just overall get his food dish to feed him) even though I've already had him for almost a year and had done regular handling sessions to make him get used to being handled but nonetheless an incredibly beautiful pet. It's important to note that not all bearded dragons are docile and just like humans, they each have their own attitudes. Yes, some morphs are cheap but you also must consider the monthly cost of food (insects + vegetables), UVA/UVB (which includes monthly electricity costs if you cannot sun bask your dragon during rainy days to save on lights) and upgrading enclosure size as your dragon grows.
@coopzreptiles2 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience and opinion! ☺️ I totally understand where you're coming from. Each bearded dragon definitely has its own unique personality, some can be less tame or docile, like the one you have described, while others might be more laid-back and easygoing. It really comes down to the spesific individual, and this is true across all animals in general, not just reptiles. It's awesome to hear that you stayed persistent with your dragon despite the challenges you were facing, so fair play to you for that! 👌😎 You're absolutely right about the ongoing costs and care, this is definitely something to consider, and I did mention this in the video. Bearded dragons are the more expensive option out of the five I covered in the video. We're actually working on a video breaking down the monthly running costs for each species, so I'm excited to share that soon! 😄 I think it’s crucial for new owners to be fully prepared for both behaviour and long-term care commitments, so thanks again for leaving this comment and adding your perspective aswell as sharing your experience!! 😊

Hello, great video! It's good to see more and more people promoting balanced light and heat sources. My only correction is about your explanation of advantages of tungsten filament lamps over ceramic heat emitters- while they do contain small amounts of UVA, their main appeal is a big amount of IRA. That's also why they're better than ceramic heaters that provide UVC which is far less effective (read:not at all) for deep tissue heating. I took note of your substrate mix, I'll be trying that in the future! All that being said, I'd like to ask for your experience and advice for appropriate Jungle Dawn fixture length for a 130cm vivarium (60 height). Does an undimmed 57cm fixture, installed from the very beginning of one side, provide some full shade at the other end? Or would you recommend going for a size smaller at 47cm fixture? These lights aren't available in my country so I'll have to order them from abroad and I don't really have a chance to test their illuminating power on my own. Hope you can help, thank you in advance

Hello, thank you for sharing your comment 😊 and thank you for this information! I shall keep this in mind for future content it's definitely something which I can add in to future videos when talking about these bulbs ! 💡 I'm really pleased to hear you'll be giving this substrate mix a go ! You'll have to let us know how you get on with this mix !! I've had great success with the mix, so it'll be nice to know how other people get on with it ! 😊 Now, regarding your question to do with the jungle Dawn sizing, for your size enclosure, yes the 34w (57cm) will still provide a dark area on the opposite side of the enclosure, when installed at the beginning of 1 side of the enclosure, however if you want it to be even darker on that side of the enclosure then I'd recommend going for the smaller size (22w 47cm) because this will provide that extra bit of darkness. It's just down to personal preference, really... I have just tested this out for both size kits in an enclosure for you, and the smaller one does make it that extra bit darker, I have also taken a small video of this, so if you wanted to see this video your more than welcome to message me via our Facebook / Instagram pages and I'd be more than happy to send this video across to you so you can actually physically see the difference in light output before making a decision on which size you would want to buy :) I hope this is helpful to you !
