Is that George Harrison in the audience, upfront at stage right?

I'm an honorary GenX, and my parents were early boomers... Their music is JUST AWESOME!! None of the whiny, woke, soy BS or mono-note, rap-crap of today (or in the early 2000s when I was I teenager).

The First Edition: From left to right: Mike Settle (vocals and acoustic guitar), Mary Arnold (vocals and tambourine), Kenny Rodgers (lead vocal and bass guitar), Terry Williams (vocals and lead guitar) and Mickey Jones (drums)
@t-mar92754 ай бұрын
That's not Mary Arnold but her predecessor, Thelma Camacho. The video was shot for "From The Bitter End", a television show originating from The Bitter End club in NYC. There are two other extant performances from this particular show, "I was A Loser" and "I Get a Funny Feeling". All three songs are from the first album. The performance appears to be from some time in early 1968.

That’s Mickey Jones on drums you’ve seen him in hundreds of movies. Oh yeah, and he was the drummer for Dylan’s band when he went electric! R.I.P. Mickey and Kenny.

Mickey Jones was also Bob Dylan's drummer when he went electric in 1966. Jones was also on the TV show "Tool Time" as a member of Tim Allen's "Tool Time Band."

Not as good as when Mary Arnold replaced Thelma Camacho.. Mary's Voice stood out as you will hear in other videos.. The BEST Line of the band was when they had their Syndicated TV Show Rollin / Aka Rollin On The River with Mary, Kin Vassy, Jimmy Hassell, Terry Williams, & Mickey Jones

Dang Kenny Rogers was freaking hot and proof that our grandparents are cooler than us.. RIP Kenny Rogers a great talent and I honestly think he should have stuck to rock but his country wasn't too bad either..haha I turn 40 next month and I'd rather listen to this kinda music than some of the crap my generation calls music

We all love Kenny, and we all love this song. Now let's be honest, the studio version is great because of the studio musicians. This video shows us what this band really sounded like, and they're not very good. Having said this, I'm thrilled to see the REAL THING, instead of another lip-synced TV joke.

Now we know why Kenny started "talking" his songs.He looks kinda high and his 'stache is fine. The band sounds like shit, but I still like it. (A much more seasoned and talented musicians played on the highly produced recording; the Wrecking Crew, Glenn Campbell guitars.),

Kenny Rogers never did drugs nor drink nor gamble. That is one of the many reasons he was a successful musician for over half a century.
