This is good for a few dozen things, but it can help to make a spread sheet. Once you get past a few dozen sticky notes, going digital really helps.

@amymae8627 what other columns would you suggest. I realize this is an overview, but i have been using Kanban for a little while now and would like to expand and break down a bit more. Suggestions please. :)

I want to try this. It sounds simple enough that it won’t make my head swim or my eyelids heavy. Now to find a place for it that others can’t see! I wonder if it would be useful to have a column for “shiny objects” that distract me?

This is the first time I heard about KANBAN board. The interesting part is that yesterday I used sticky notes to set up my to do list and loved how I could visually move the sticky from to do to done side of my board. Yesterday for the first time I felt like I had a productive day. Then this morning, I did a search to see if there is a system out there that uses sticky notes and to my surprise, I found out it is actually a thing to use sticky notes to organize to dos in a organized manner. I loved your video and the information you provided.

This video is no frills, but very clear and thorough primer on using kanban at home. And I really like how Amy called us friends at the beginning, it sets a nice tone for the video.

I just heard of Kanban today and I think it's very interesting. I did something similar when we were moving out of our house and into an RV and I had a lot of projects that needed to get done. That was 6 years ago. I used sticky notes and separate sheets of paper for "To Do' and "Done" but I don't recall the method being called Kanban and I'm not sure if I thought of it on my own or found it on KZbin. Probably KZbin.

Hey. Me again. I'm still watching your videos. I hope you come back and do more videos. I mentioned in another comment that I have two channels and I know it can be tough sometimes but you have something good to share. This channel that I'm commenting from is fairly new but I've had another channel for over 5 years and we have over 5000 subscribers on it. I'm really interested in your content because I'm really into self-improvement. Whatever you are doing now, I hope all is well.

Great video, and great explanation. :) If I may suggest something, I think it might improve the whole presentation if you put material showing how to use some sort kanban software. I feel it just might visually look "cleaner" than sticky notes kanban board. Again, great material, and thanks for explanation.

What about endless lifetime projects like skin, stress, sleep, becoming funnier/more likable? You can never put them in DONE. They require like quarterly assessment & research/education about new/better ways of doing things. I guess run it through a kanban cycle, put it in done, then have a semiannual reminder that resurfaces it back on the board. Like how we focus on oral health every 6 months via dentist appointments.
@amymae8627
@amymae8627 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rich! I really like your thinking on this. You totally answered your own question! 🙌🏼 Having a reminder set at specific times of the year or at specific intervals would be super helpful for those kinds of ‘lifetime projects’ Thanks for the comment and thoughts!

Be more specific. So "be more likeable" is a category (so give it a color) and list specific goals (which are achievable and measurable and all that)... so... "read andrew Carnegy book," "learn 10 new jokes," "watch Ted talk about making good impressions" and whatever else.. some things like skincare, might be better for a habit tracker, but you might also have more specific goals.

@amymae8627

Hi Eric! If it’s a hard block of wax you can take the block and rub the block directly on the wood. I think the hard wax is probably even better than soft! Let me know if you try it out and how it works.
