My favorites are wind waker and twillight princess I really enjoy the art style of ww, but wont argue about tp graphics (even tho i think it looks good enough for a gc game, wish there was a hd version for switch) Otherwise you were brutally off target. Im pretty sure Riju told link all that because she noticed the sheikah slate and she knew that only link can have this sheikah slate. Allthough my last/first botw playthrough was close after release. Never played the story again.

I have some thoughts for the Fierce Diety Mask and why it looks like Link. We've seen that some strong emotions can take solid form, like Gratitude Crystals. Each of the side quests masks represent something Link has done to help others. They contain the gratitude and happiness they feel towards Link. Majora probably mushed all that into one mask so Link could challenge him at a similar level of power. As for why it looks like an adult Link? If you had to put a face on all the good that has happened in Termina recently, Link is at the top of that list. He's become their savior, and if stories were told about him, odds are he'd be a larger-than-life figure. It's like that line about power in a Song of Ice and Fire (paraphrase, I'll fix later): "Power is just that, a shadow on the wall. And yet sometimes, shadows can kill. And sometimes a small man can cast a very long shadow". The Fierce Deity is the "shadow" of Link, cast by the "light" of his deeds and the beliefs of the people. The risk to Link might be getting possessed by the Fierce Diety in the same way that Skull Kid was used by Majora's Mask. But he endured, either due to his will, or the nature of the Diety, or that it was too "new" to have a consciousness yet.

I'm not on-board with the Garo being behind Majora's Mask and Stone Tower just because the Garo seem to be spies for another nation that Ikana was at war with. It seems like a very hard structure to build at all, let alone building it in your enemy's backyard. I think they were scouting it for use as a forward base, though. Especially since Ikana's king said all his best warriors couldn't take it down. I'm in the Dark Interloper camp. You pointed out Majora imagery in Stone Tower, those are definitely linked. And there's a cave in Ikana with a lot of Majora imagery, too. I think that the cave was where the rituals went down, but they sealed the mask in Stone Tower. The fact that you have to turn the Tower upside-down and fall "up" to reach a new dimension mirrors that weird spiral hallway on Link's entry into Termina. I like that you pointed out the color scheme difference. Maybe the creators moved away from the wild rituals and into a sort of Magitek? Less risk of it gaining sentience. Anyway, from there, they probably locked the Mask in the Tower where it went mad from isolation, while they moved on up to Hyrule to tri and get a piece of the pie. Ikana had their war, probably died. Then, the Happy Mask Salesman reopened the Tower and unsealed the mask. (They refer to a "masked one". Either he was wearing a specific one, or he was "the one with masks" instead) Then the dead woke up.

I hope Nintendo never makes a backstory for the Majora. The bizarre horror that comes from Majora’s Mask is made much more effective if the origins remain unknown.

Considering how Skull Kids are created, its very likely he IS immortal, or at least doesn't age. There's no reason he can't be the one in the legend.

I'm confident in saying Link is meant to be a relatively blank slate for the player to project their own personality and sexuality onto. Yes certain characters have infatuation with link however its ultimately the player that decides if he is receptive to them.

This is so sad bro. Honestly I would have loved a game connecting how link died and became the hero shade. We already got years of the kingdom and breathe of the wild so a safer verision of a legend of Zelda game that focuses on links journey before he passed would honestly be so emotional and clear up so much of what his life was like as an adult

Majora is a being leftover from the primordial world...Like Demise, Dethl and Vaati. Their kind, have a nack for possession...Majora is probably the most powerful of the group, and was directly responsible for the fall of Ikana way way before the mask came to skull kid. It was Majora that sent the Garo to spy...increasing fear and discord amongst the Ikanans, and ultimately turned them against one another. It was due to these lies, Igos du Ikana gave Majora permission to destroy his people, in exchange that his kingdom would survive. It does, but survive is a relative term... and thus it's citizens now exist as shadows and undead. Majora makes his next "appearance" manipulating the other Dethludi...Convincing Demise to conquer Hyrule and for his champion, the Moblin Gannon to claim the triforce for their people. During this war, Dethl is released from the shadow temple by Gannon in exchange for the knowledge of the Triforce location. It's also during this time Dethl and Gannon attempt to bolster their forces to overcome Hyrule Castles defenses by conscription of the Gerudo, claiming that a curse would befall their people if they didn't help. Initially they refuse, but once they realize that curse was all to real and male Gerudo are no longer being born, some join with Gannon. The other Dethludi, Vaati learns of the Triforce from Gannon, and realizing the wind tribe, in fact didn't take the triforce with them, also agreed to help Gannon take over Hyrule castle...yet upon the congregation of these forces against Hyrule, Vaati comes to the conclusion that someone else has been manipulating them and wants them all dead...Majora. Ultimately this is proven correct, as Gannon is slain after being betrayed by Dethl at Spectacle Rock. Dethl then recruits the remaining forces at Lake Hylia...the traitor sheika, the great fairies from Holodrum, and the traitor gerudo. Ultimately though, Demise decides to assist the Hylians if only to see Dethl dead by his own hands...and while he fails at this task, because of these efforts Dethl is captured, brought to Kakariko town and executed...it's spirit sealed away at the bottom of the well. The remaining forces after this battle, including the great fairies, were eventually captured by the Hylians, who gave them over as prisoners to the Gerudo Warlords...who at the Arbiters Grounds, forced them all into the Mirror of Twilight. Those who survive this, become the Twili...and those dark interlopers mentioned are in fact the Great Fairies: Veran Morsheen and Una...and its by their trinity they rule over twilight and select its rulers. However what isn't well known is that the power of these corrupted great fairies, comes from their diety Majora...who for ages used the twili and their suffering as fuel to increase his own power. However... sometime before Zant and Midna enter our story, a powerful king of the Twili emerges, and with the support of the people of twilight, overthrows the great fairies and confronts Majora. It's during this time that king becomes known as the Fierce Diety...the bad guy to Majoras world order and power. It's with the help of the sols, infused into a twisted blade that sent forth beams of magical light, that Majora is eventually beaten...however, this victory would be neither sides to claim as both end up being sealed. Majora is sealed in his mask, and the counter (the firece diety) is also sealed in case that power was ever needed to combat Majora again. Ages pass...and to most these events are forgotten. That is until the Mask Salesman somehow managed to enter the twilight (world of shadows) and learn of its existence. After going through great lengths, or being mislead to believe that, he is successful at recovering the mask. I suspect being a being not of twilight allows Majoras Mask to enable both of their escape....and once Majora returns to the light world (Hyrule, Termina, etc) its first goal is to return to its original source of power...namely Termina and Ikana, only this time he intends to sacrifice and consume all of Termina not just Ikana. Enter Link...who's the only person capable of preventing this from occurring, thus he's cursed and led into Termina...Majora knew Link had possession of a triforce part, and assumed he could kill Link along with everyone else is Termina. However...Majora makes a critical mistake. In his attempt at destroying and consuming Termina with the moon...he inadvertently made it possible for the Fierce Diety Mask to be summoned from Twilight. Remember this final battle takes place at dawn...one of two times a day the light world is closest with twilight. I also suspect that this Moon from Termina...Is in fact not a moon at all, but a manifestation of Majoras power it's self, and explains why it disappeared into a rainbow upon his defeat. That power returned to where it came from...twilight and is proof that Majora and the Twili are indeed connected. It's only after his defeat that the forces within twilight are able to escape back into Hyrule...because that power he stole and used all that time, returns to them. The saga continues to play out...with Majora being replaced with Gannondorf, who like Majora supports darkness and conquest...thus his puppet Zant becomes a usurper king, and Midna...our rightful twilight ruler, knows about all of these events...and even convinced Zelda and Link of these events. That fused shadow...isn't Majoras Mask, but was most likely made by its power. The fused shadows...represent pieces of the fallen great fairies and their power, from the age where they were the Magical Interlopers trying to dominate Hyrule...so its not too strange at all, one of Majoras eyes would be upon the mask, eyes are very symbolic in Hylian lore and often depict hidden or forbidden power. That's how I understand the story of Majora anyway...and I'm sure parts of it aren't "cannon" or can't actually be confirmed, but maybe you'll find this story interesting, to say the least.

I think the 2nd theory makes a lot of sense. The stones are basically mind reading cameras. Although it is a little different from '1984' where (if I know the story correctly) everybody Knows there is a "big brother watching", the gossip stones are not Known to be watching and people live in bliss that everything is perfect instead of behaving good because they Must or will be punished.

This feels too much like a person reading the bible, drawing your own conclusion and then finding things to prove it. there are Many contradictions to this theory and several things even IN the supposed "evidence" which could support it is Not a dream (you say that Link goes to sleep and dreams Majora's Mask, but you say that Link is traveling to find the friend he lost... which is it? And if you use the logic "a dream can be a parallel world" then that would mean that Any time a person dreams, the things In their dream are real and exist in another world or dimension, which is of course nonsense. amongst other issues. ) Also, here's the flaw in Your debunking of the 'Link is Dead' theory. It has been proven that their are different time lines. One where Link defeats Ganon and goes back in time to warn Zelda, one where Ganon defeats Link, and one where Link wins and goes back in time but just disappears. So saying that "he is a direct dissident" doesn't mean anything as that could be from just One of the timelines, say, where Zelda is warned. Maybe this timeline is where he goes back in time and leaves; Or even when he is straight up Killed by Ganon and thus Dead and he is in the purgatory as his only real known existence, a child. because technically he lived more as a child then as an adult as he lived for about 10 years (or whatever age he is) and is only an "adult" for a week or so.

But at the end of the game, doesn't it reference that the Skull Kid 'Was' friends with the giants and they return to him? So that would mean he 'is' the imp from the story, even though it seems far fetched. However, I fully agree with the theory of the 'Fierce Deity'. It makes a lot of sense, logic is sound, and fits with the story and setting of the game. And the Final 'reading" was Perfect. Also, did anybody else simply 'Give Up' on trying to figure out the story once you entered the moon? I remember throughout the game looking at clues, hints, and general plot stories to figure out the answer, but once I went up there I just though "what the hell?!?!, okay, I give up, there is no logic here".
