So happy to have another video to watch! I haven’t introduced my kids to the concept or people of missionaries, so this is a good push for me. I totally understood when you said that we want our kids to follow God’s plan for their lives but make sure it’s close by and safe! Not the right heart for me to have.
@NoHigherCalling11 күн бұрын
I pray that this series will be a blessing to you and your children throughout the year as you introduce them to missions. The beautiful thing about missions is that it is the heartbeak of God!

Thank you for this, Brettany! As a new missionary wife and mom (this is our 2nd year on the field), I am so excited for the emphasis on missions! This is so encouraging!

Praise the Lord! We are about to hit our 2 year mark on the field, and I am excited as well. I think the emphasis will be good for me and my chidlren as I share these interviews with them.

Hey I'm not sure if you are aware but young living has some witchaft type stuff going on. Their essential oils promote giving you visions and dreams, attracting prosperity and wealth, and lots more. Wasn't sure you were aware so as a Christian I thought I would share that. Thrive market has some great soap on their website that Is natural. Let me know what you think as I'm just genuinely curious what your thoughts are on it.
@NoHigherCalling5 ай бұрын
I am not familiar with that info. Very interesting. I'll have to research that out more. We live in Australia, so Thrive Market is not an option for us here.

@@NoHigherCalling Of course! I cannot find the name of the lady I got the recipe from, so just suffice it to say that this isn’t my original recipe. 🤎 Homemade Nontoxic Laundry Detergent: • 2 cups washing soda (bake baking soda at 400 degrees for 1-2 hours until grainy) • 2 cups baking soda • 2/3 cup epsom salt • 3 Tablespoons Salt • (optional) 20-30 drops essential oil of choice for scent Mix it all up and use 1 Tablespoon per load, or 2 Tablespoons for a bigger or greasier load! *Bonus Tip* I like to use 1/2 cup white vinegar in the fabric softener slot of the washer :) Why these ingredients? Washing soda has a high alkalinity, helping to remove grease and stains. Baking soda helps to soften the water and keep clothes bright. Epsom salts help to soften fabric and remove dirt. And salt is a natural purifier, it's great at keeping your colors and whites bright and removing stains!

Time stamps would help here. Really had to scrub through stuff especially the missionary heavy parts that don’t relate to our family. Also interested in what you consider cultural music. Can’t imagine you listening to KPop for example, yet it’s still an important music type for Korean culture. Otherwise could be a very interesting video.
@NoHigherCalling11 ай бұрын
The main purpose of this video was to share how we make the geography units very missions centric as that is a huge focus of our family and faith. That's why it was so interwoven throughout the video 🤍 And as far as cultural music goes, we tend to focus on the traditional folk music of the culture

Is this curriculum not on point with the Bible? Does it teach something different? Should I be aware of some certain things?
@NoHigherCalling Жыл бұрын
Oh it's very Christ-centered! That's one of the reasons we love it so much. The author does use a different Bible version than we do (we use KJV, and most of the curriculum is ESV I believe) and a few doctrinal differences have popped up on rare occasions, but her heart for weaving God and the Bible into everything is evident!

Hey, I've been enjoying listening to your podcasts on Spotify and videos here on KZbin. Would you mind doing a video or podcast on the boundaries you set for your extended family and your children. Boundaries that are healthy as Christians you do as a family? My husband and I are expecting our first baby in just a few weeks and we have worldly family members that we want to set healthy boundaries with. And would love to hear what you have to share when it comes to inlaws and your children! Blessings to you!

I used cloth diapers on both of my daughters. The first was born in 1975 and the second in 1983. I had pre-folded diapers on the second. I used safety pins on both of them. I filled a diaper pail about one third with hot water and put a cup of borax in it then rinsed the used diaper and put in the pail. Washed in hot water. No bleach.

Do you follow any methods for delivering naturally? Im pregnant with my 4th due a couple days after you and I’ve always tried to do it naturally and the doctors always convince me in one way or another to get the epidural. Of course it’s my own decision but when ur in the moment and in so much pain you just trust them. Anyway, I’ve been reading a lot on the Bradley Method so I’m curious if you follow anything or just go in like a boss lol
@NoHigherCalling6 ай бұрын
I apologize for not responding! For some reason, I missed this comment. I'm assuming you already had your baby, and I hope it went well and was all you dreamed of! To answer your question, my natural births have been home births. I don't have the option of an epidural, and that makes all the difference. When you have no choice but to push through, you do :) Also having a support system to encourage you along the way is HUGE!

They are welcome to get into the boxes on the lowest shelf since those have their toys in them. The toddler knows to put books back when she's done. The baby is another story 🙃

Also, we have a few "resets" throughout our day where we tidy the house. So when it's not that time (ex. when I'm schooling my older kids and the baby is making a book mountain) I don't worry about it bc I know we'll get to cleaning up after lessons. That's helped keep me from stressing and picking up 1000x

I live in Trinidad and have issues with synthetic fragrances. The fragrance-free laundry soap I have been using is getting hard to find. I learned how to wash my hair with baking soda and rinse it with vinegar (could not find fragrance-free shampoo either)...is it possible to use this to wash clothes? I have looked into homemade laundry soaps, but they all seem to use borax and lye soap...I haven’t found borax here and the lye soap is scented. Any ideas? 😂
