The trail you are taking to get back to the put in is that the Narrows of the Harpeth trail? Also, do you know what a good flow rate/water level would be for this section? It looked pretty perfect when you did it

Awesome flight. Also love the GoPro mounted on top vid. If only we didn’t have to land...lol. Damage report? Mine hasn’t even been out of the box yet. The “tricky landing characteristics” reputation of this model precedes it. I can’t wait to get it built and in the air. Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks! I think you'll really like this plane. I planned on having it for several weeks and found it worth the wait. I'll be posting a couple videos in the next couple days. Yesterday flew it in pretty wild winds and landed it like a kite.

Thanks for your comment. That is one fine plane. Floats like a feather. Since that video was made a had a second crash that I deemed unrepairable. So, I bought new wings and fuse and rebuilt. It's amazing now. You won't be disappointed. I still plan to get that Timber Turbo and equip with FPV.

What lake is that? Nice job, the only thing I would suggest since you are not in to post editing, is a ND/PL filter (maybe 32) it will help with the sky/cloud separation and give it the color a little more pop. I just order some Polar Pro cinema series filters (32/64 ND/PL) for my M2 Zoom. Can't wait to get back and fly, did i mention i got the RE goggles as well.

Robert, I couldn't agree more. If you are in fear of falling down while hiking with your backpack or falling off your bicycle, please don't pack your Phantom this way. In that case I would recommend this one: www.dronefly.com/product-p/backpack-dronefly.htm It is only $199. It will hold a lot more than the one featured in my video and will no doubt weigh a bit more. It may take a bit longer to pack up your stuff. Here's one for $229.99. aerialmediapros.com/store/parts-accessories-phantom-2/848-phantom-2-tactical-backpack.html Mine is pretty crappy and cost $35.00. I've had my Phantom for about 9 months with over 400 flights, many of which from an open field that I hike out to with the backpack and have suffered no damage to the aircraft. NOTE: If your Phantom is considered "very expensive", you may want to look into a Pelican Case with shoulder straps. Here is one that is on sale for $350. www.casesbysource.com/product/casepro-dji-phantom-quadcopter-2-vision-gopro-deluxe-wheeled-hard-case-cp-phan-dx1 ;-)

Ken, by far the best overall video I've seen on the Phantom line, great job. I've been having some issue on my vision since i've put it together. My green LED's go off after initial power up, then come on when home lock is established, then go back off. Been looking into it with no avail. Won't put it back up till she's fixed. :-(

I found this piece very enjoyable. I hadn't read your writings until after I had watched the video for the 4th time. I could hear the whale songs long before I learned the name of the song...it was a perfect fit. It all felt so peaceful and very relaxing. I can't seem to take it all in with only one viewing. I see the discovery, the creatures and what they are doing and then I go back again to enjoy the water movement and the return trip. There is much to see in this one. Then I focus on trying to figure out what all you did, altitude, speed, purpose of given movements,,,,or simply standing still. So much to see in even the short creations. I have to admit, even though I knew this had a happy ending, I could feel some nervousness as I watched how far out over the water this was. BTW..... at 1447 hours, yesterday, my Phantom arrived at my doorstep. I am very excited, nervous, proud, filled with fantasies of things I want to discover, capture, create and stories I want to tell. I wanted to head out and fly it today, but I am forcing myself to take a slow pace on this. My bride was very happy for me. I think the best part of it all is to see my dreams come true. I got her to laugh to hard I thought she was going to cry. I am sitting with thousands of dollars worth of new and complicated stuff and when she walks in, she catches me buffing and waxing the big black box it came in. LOL Tomorrow I will study, but today I wanted my big black box to shine, shine, shine. ;>) Thank you for taking the time to help me get through the fog and confusion as I begin to start yet another chapter in my world. One more thing. I am convinced that making the correct choice of music that dances with a given video is critical and you have proven yourself time and time again to have a knack for that. My sleeping pill is kicking in...guess I should shut up now. ;>) I think I will listen to the whale songs as I drift away...... Cheers, Dan

LOL....42 lines! I guess I went in to a ramble last night. Our goal is to begin the easy flying exercises this weekend. My dealer is going to walk me through it all in preparation for my first flights. These flights won't be on video. The GoPro and gimbal won't be attached to the bird until after I get about 10 hours flight time in. Well, thats the plan.......

Very nice instructional video. I purchased the Tagg tracker on Amazon also. Noticed you have attached it to the rear left leg of your Phantom II. I have the Phantom II Vision and it appears to have a thin wire/antenna down the back left leg. Does yours. If not I need to try another mounting place so as to avoid interfering with signals
@eroomomni
@eroomomni 10 жыл бұрын
Frederick, I did, in fact mount the Tagg on the post that contains one of two small antenna wires. To date, it appears to have no impact on the signal for control. If necessary, I can show a photo of the back side of that landing gear post. I hope this helps. Thanks for the positive comment.

Actually I first noticed him in my goggles (FPV) on the way up. Zoomed in on him after watching the video last night and noticed he was a rock climber.
