I want to sew a bullet bra because I wear 1950s early 60s vintage clothing and those clothes look and fit better wearing the undergarments from that era. Problem is, is that my size is very hard to find in ready to wear. The only bras I have found that fit nicely (and I don't get a be selection of styles and colors) is Victoria"s Secret. I wear size 34G. If I could get a pattern in that size I would be so grateful and happy.

Hi! Coming from Marisol's channel. Very pretty. Does the system guide you thru the steps / order to sew the pieces? I'm a beginner, so I need instructions or step by step. Does the system suggest the amount of fabric needed for the project? Thanks
@SewNotes5 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for stopping by! There are no instructions. But they do have labels as A B C and so on, to show you the sewing order. I would recommend getting the book The complete guide to sewing to help guide you in the process. Even going to the thift store to grab some patterns for the instructions alone would be beneficial!

How is your bra-making going? Last winter I ordered from VS for the last time. Nothing fit right or was really quality, so I decided to sew a bra in my actual size the way I want it. I bought the Labellum pattern from LilypaDesign, messed around, made adjustments and made one ok prototype 'first' bra with duoplex and zero frills. Then I made a beautiful lace and foam bra that fits perfectly. Tho I admit, I made about 4 toiles. Now I will never buy off-the-rack bras again. Ever. Finally decided to try Emerald Erin's Black Beauty to compare to the Labellum (which is amazing!) I can't wait to get started on it! Great video! I can't believe your first bra fit right straight from the pattern. Lucky girl! Its a beautiful piece of lingerie you made.

Hi Kris! It's almost May now and my makes list is short. I hope the night shift is over or very close!❤ I'm sure it can be hard being in a small space, but at least you do have a space. I see some people have to clear off a little small part of a table to sew and then put it back together for lunch or dinner or even other projects. I get it. I was one who had to clear off a little section to sew and then, clear it for my son... and then clear him out for our next meal. That was our RV living life. I miss seeing here!❤
@SunShine-0007 ай бұрын
Hi Kris! These books sound intriguing and I definitely enjoy reviews of sewing books, especially vintage, as they can be foundational. The logic of starting with coats or outer wear makes so much sense, as they are the most expensive and frankly, if you live in the frozen north, you tend to wear a lot of outer wear for most of the year😅. I have always loved nice coats after visiting Montreal in the winter months for hockey, years ago. I was astounded by the lovely variety and how coats (leather ones especially) could set the tone and give clues to personality. About sweats as street wear, it surely depends on whether they’re “styled” or just slept in and walked out the door. And if you think about it, we are modeling for our kids, as Grace’s comment surely underlined. They may not listen to us, but they sure do watch and can pick up on our habits, good and bad! So yes, more please!❤
@SewNotes7 ай бұрын
Very true about our kids watching and picking up habits. I'm finding lately that my mindset is letting the fear take over. Surely there are people out there who haven't even sewn something basic are making these extravagant projects. I try my best to not let the fear kick in, but it's been messing with me lately. I have the fabric for my coat purchased 2 years ago and it's placed on the top of my pile! Hopefully I can get to it soon!
