I'm going to see Trivium and Bullet on the "The poisoned ascendancy" tour in 2025. Rest assured there will be a banner hanging from the stands with "Boat, Rudder, strange mountain on it." At least in Glasgow anyways. Crazy that people actually sing this version nowadays as opposed to the actual lyrics. But I suppose that's what happens with the internet being what it is these days.

I remember the mid 2000s when it was cool to hate on Trivium. They kinda grew on me over the years. Nowadays they're pretty respected in the metal community.

I stopped liking them for awhile because they really were sounding very similar to Metallica especially on the Crusade album. Once they finally brought back their screaming several years later, then they started growing back on me and seem to have found their identity

Ahhh, back when it was cool to hate Trivium. Have to say over the years they've have gone up considerably in many metalheads books. I think they're a brilliant band now. It's been over 10 years since I've heard this and I still piss myself laughing at it. Some things never get old 😂

@@ParanoiDave Many metalheads would beg to differ. I still find this video funny, but Trivium grew on me, most metalheads I know and met online and in concerts believe they’ve paid their dues.

@@xd2129 I'm dangerously close to slipping back into the gimmick here.... I know the metal scene in general has softened on them, that's a reason to give them another shot, which I always do, and I still don't like it. I don't dislike them out of being "old school" or anything like that. I just think their last few albums have been very beige, default-metal. That and that cover of "Kill the Poor" is one of the worst covers I've ever heard. His performance strips all the sarcasm and Irony from the song and makes it sound very sincere, sung like its the Act 1 finale of "Ayn Rand: The Rock Opera". (There we go, we slipped)
