I always thought the part where the girl gets shot to be the most interesting part. The secret policeman (bagman, i think) went too far,and the people of the neighbourhood became so angry ,that they hated him more than they feared him.

Whats so scary is how accurate they predicted 2020 15 years before it would happen. The massive outbreak of a disease, the governmental fascistic takeover and overreach. The only thing I would say they got wrong, the political parties. It was the democrats who locked up everyone, who would persecute you for wanting to visit family, have dinner, drink your water, walk your dog on the beach. If you critiqued them on social media you risked prosecution, in the public eye or in the governmental as was done in the UK.
