Florida sucks! It’s a hot, crowded, expensive hell hole filled with rude and arrogant people trying to show off. F’in horror show. Can’t wait to get out!

You’re right, Ray. We rented 2 different condos at 2 different locations on the island in high season for a comparison. Never felt crowded as Hollywood Beach. Walked everywhere night and day. Talked to so many people who come down every winter for 15-20 years and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else on the coast.

I've been in the Palm Beaches since . For looking for the best place in America to live, I've checked literally everywhere, and this is it, PERIOD. A VET gets 50% off property taxes, no income tax, and a host of other reasons. Weather near perfect.

If you were going to move to Buffalo I would suggest taking a trip in the middle of winter and seeing if you could handle the winter. Conversely if you are going to move to FL honestly take a trip in late July/early August and see how you fare in the heat. Honestly the summer is worse in Orlando than South FL because South FL is moderated by both the ocean and the Everglades a bit. The sun/rain cycle is very rapid in the summer which is more like a wet season, it rains almost daily and it rains hard when it does. But the days highs will very, very rarely be over 95, but it doesn't cool off at night so it'll be 86 degrees at 10 o'clock at night. The sun itself does pack a punch, its very powerful. Its very, very bright, its like life in vivid technicolor. I remember the day I became a FL resident, drove down in July and the sign said 'Welcome to FL' and that means you're not really there yet. At least 5-6 separate thundercells along 95 driving south. I got in late, about 1 or 2 in the morning and I slept in. Woke up at 11AM and walked outside and the sun was just insanely bright, my eye cones or rods just blued out on me a bit and the sun was just really strong on my northern pallor. But here's the thing, FL has A/C so you can take the heat to the extent you want to, but then you can back out of it and cool off.

With respect to population there is a difference between the state population of the city and people living with a mailing address with that city. For instance I live in Boynton Beach but technically I live in an unincoporated area of Palm Beach County. But when they count the population of Boynton Beach they don't count me. Is this as large as NYC, no. Is it as large as the suburban county in North Jersey I lived in. Well, yeah, alot bigger, Palm Beach County has about 1.5mn people now. So overall South FL is densely populated and to compound that the western areas of Palm Beach County, Broward and Dade are swamp and yes, PBC has Belle Glade out there, but looking up pop densiity of PBC wiki telling me its 2400 people per sq mile. That's relatively dense without qualification. But look at a google map of Palm Beach County and one will quickly note that most of the area is west of 441, but obviously most of the people are east of it.
