This place is turning into DEI and a affirmative action nightmare

We are staying here next week. Our current room category is listed as Oceanview. Hoping for an upgrade to full oceanfront, but if the views from this video are Oceanview, it won't be too bad!

We were there on our honeymoon February 1985 , it was the best place we have ever had the privilege to stay. Our balcony on the ocean, the magnificent ballroom dining room, the food , the staff the gorgeous details of all the beauty and history this wonderous hotel brings out. We are from New Hampshire and hope to stay again for sure, it was the highlight of our California trip.

I had watched a Documentary on this place several decades ago. Since then, a tea company, of all things, told me the name of it again, as I had forgotten it, yet I immediately recognized the name. That, oddly enough, brings me here. I had heard a lot about the Hauntings there. And May I say, that it's gorgeous. The Victorian Architecture is beautiful.

Does anyone remember i believe it was called the Prince Edward dinning room? It was a circular room, with a crown in the center ceiling and draped material. My husband and I would come to it for a special dinner in the 70's. Remember the dessert was peach melba.

Needed improvements for an old building, but sadly the guest rooms are dismal and not cleaned well at $800 a night. More buildings on the property are going to cram even more people into the grounds, making the visit feel like an overcrowded campus. But that's corporations today, just keep getting more $$ out of everybody and giving less back. Choose carefully when visiting.

Went to a wedding back in 1981 when I was 10 years old and me and 2 of my cousins were walking down a long hallway on the bottom floor and a green leather ball with white stars rolled past us on the floor. One of my cousins picked it up and threw it. Nobody was there. We walked outside and the same ball came rolling outside. We split.

Del Coronado used to be an out-standing, stylish hotel, today it has lost most of its charm and class a'la Hilton...2021, the ugliest year to be alive.

I'm thankful to see this because the last time I was in the hotel a few years ago, I couldn't believe the poor taste in "upgrades." I'm so happy that they're brining it closer to the original and I do hope they restore the ballroom from that awful merry-go ground with acoustic tiles back to the original wooden hall it once was. It's a far grander space than anyone alive today has witnessed under all that sheet rock, carpet and foam.

The Turret is one of the most famous symbols of San Diego and yet there are no behind the scenes videos on what's now there. Is there any information on this? I was there recently and sadly disappointed at some of the most recent upgrades. Why the insufferable screens flanking the front desk in the lobby now? People are coming to this hotel to experience something out of time, not the same stuff they'll see at a downtown modern hotel. Everything that I love about this hotel is what is faithful to the experience of that era.
