“We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.” ~ Oscar Wilde "The devil's finest trick is to persuade you that he does not exist.” ~ Charles Baudelaire “We have never heard the devil's side of the story, God wrote all the book.” ~ Anatole France “It is wonderful how much time good people spend fighting the devil. If they would only expend the same amount of energy loving their fellow men, the devil would die in his own tracks of ennui.” ~ Helen Keller Each time Mara appeared, the Buddha acknowledged his presence with a simple, “I see you, Mara.” Rather than trying to block Mara out or drive him away, the Buddha would invite him in for tea. Eventually Mara would leave on his own, powerless as always against the Buddha's acceptance and kindness.

“It is always the false that makes you suffer, the false desires and fears, the false values and ideas, the false relationships between people. Abandon the false and you are free of pain; truth makes happy, truth liberates.” ~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj “Wisdom is knowing I am nothing, Love is knowing I am everything, and between the two my life moves.” ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj “You will receive everything you need when you stop asking for what you do not need” ~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj “Once you realize that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself an ecstasy.” ~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj 🧡 We invite you to add your favorite quotes and insights, below. "Anyone who wants to know the human psyche will learn next to nothing from experimental psychology. He would be better advised to abandon exact science, put away his scholar's gown, bid farewell to his study, and wander with human heart through the world." ~ Carl Jung "Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul." ~ Saint Augustine “The highest knowledge is to understand that everything is part of one unified reality and that this unity cannot be disturbed by any external force.” ~ Kaushitaki Upanishad “As long as you have certain desires about how it ought to be you can’t see how it is.” ~ Ram Dass

"We all have two lives: an inner life and an outer life. Your inner life is your soul life, which includes your mind, will and emotions. Your outer life is your physical life. And while God cares about every detail of your life, He is more concerned with your inner life than your outer life." ~ Joyce Meyer “Everything that ever happened to you, you experienced right within you. Light and darkness, pain and pleasure, agony and ecstasy-all of it happened within you. If someone touches your hand right now, you may think you are experiencing their hand, but the fact of the matter is you are only experiencing the sensations in your own hand. The whole experience is contained within. All human experience is one hundred percent self-created.” ~ Sadhguru "You are here to enable the divine purpose of the Universe to unfold, that is how important you are." ~ Eckhart Tolle "The only knowledge which satisfies us is one which is subject to no external standards but springs from the inner life of the personality." ~ Rudolf Steiner

"If there is a meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering. Suffering is an ineradicable part of life, even as fate and death. Without suffering and death, human life cannot be complete." ~ Viktor E. Frankl "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." ~ Helen Keller "People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of a fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar." ~ Thich Nhat Hanh "Suffering passes, while love is eternal. That's a gift that you have received from God. Don't waste it." ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder Dear Friends, We invite you to share your favorite quotes, segments and thoughts on this topic. Thank you.

“Qi is the Chinese word for "life energy". According to Chinese medicine, Qi is the animating power that flows through all living things. A living being is filled with it. A dead person has no more Qi. A healthy individual has more Qi than one who is ill. However health is more than an abundance of Qi. Health implies that the Qi in our bodies is clear, rather than polluted and turbid, and flowing smoothly, like a stream, not blocked or stagnant.” ~ Kenneth S. Cohen Dear Friends, We invite you to share your favorite quotes, segments and thoughts on this topic. Thank you.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” ~ Buddha Siddhartha Guatama Shakyamuni “No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” ~ Gautama Buddha “Peace comes from within. “If we think we have twenty-four hours to achieve a certain purpose, today will become a means to attain an end. The moment of chopping wood and carrying water is the moment of happiness. We do not need to wait for these chores to be done to be happy. To have happiness in this moment is the spirit of aimlessness. Otherwise, we will run in circles for the rest of our life. We have everything we need to make the present moment the happiest in our life, even if we have a cold or a headache. We don't have to wait until we get over our cold to be happy. Having a cold is a part of life.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh "The practice IS the practice" ~ Sister Sunny Free Spirit “Before enlightenment chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment chop wood, carry water.” ~ Zen Proverb “Everyone wants to be great, until it’s time to do what greatness requires.” ~ Joshua Medcalf Dear Friends, We invite you to share your favorite quotes, segments and thoughts on this topic. “In a world where nothing exists by itself, where every division of one thing from another is a misperception - or misconception - of the way things really are, there are no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind. We cannot, for example, draw a line around the eyes that is not necessarily arbitrary. There is no point at which the eyes begin or end, either in time or in space or conceptually. The eye bone is connected to the face bone, and the face bone is connected to the head bone, and the head bone is connected to the neck bone, and so it goes down to the toe bone, the floor bone, the earth bone, the worm bone, the dreaming butterfly bone. Thus, what we call our eyes are so many bubbles in a sea of foam. This is not only true of our eyes but of our other powers of sensation as well, including the mind.” "Also, there is no truth of suffering, of the cause of suffering, of the cessation of suffering or of the path. There is no wisdom, and there is no attainment whatsoever. Because there is nothing to be attained, a Bodhisattva relying on Prajnaparamita has no obstruction in his heart. Because there is no obstruction he has no fear, and he passes far beyond all confused imagination and reaches Ultimate Nirvana." "There is no attainment whatsoever..." What about the MRA? Or MRI with MRA? MRI W/MRA W/Contrast or WO/Contrast? While the brain controls a person's movements, emotions, and various bodily functions; the mind alludes to a person's morality, reasoning, and understanding. The brain is a physical organ; it can be touched or seen; however, the mind is intangible; it can neither be touched nor seen. Your mind is how you, uniquely, experience life. It's responsible for how you think, feel, and choose. However, the mind and brain are actually two very different, but interconnected, entities. The frontal lobes are the largest lobes in the human brain and they are also the most common region of injury in traumatic brain injury. The frontal lobes are important for voluntary movement, expressive language and for managing higher level executive functions. This book is deep. Imagination is the ability to think of and vividly visualize ideas, new perspectives, interesting connections and goals. Creativity is the ability to make and turn ideas, things, connections and goals into a tangible reality. Brain Plasticity Has Limitations It is important to note, however, that the brain is not infinitely malleable. Certain areas of the brain are largely responsible for certain actions. For example, there are areas of the brain that play critical roles in movement, language, speech, and cognition.

“Through prediction and correction, your brain continually creates and revises your mental model of the world. It’s a huge, ongoing simulation that constructs everything you perceive while determining how you act.” ~ Lisa Feldman Barrett “Brains of higher complexity can remember more. A brain doesn’t store memories like files in a computer-it reconstructs them on demand with electricity and swirling chemicals. We call this process remembering but it’s really assembling.” ~ Lisa Feldman Barrett “It is an acknowledged fact that we perceive errors in the work of others more readily than in our own.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci “If someone doesn’t value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn’t value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?” ~ Sam Harris “Beyond thoughts, there is a presence, a silence, a stillness which is here by itself. There is no doer of it, no creator of this stillness. It is simply here in you, with you. It is the fragrance of your own self. There is nothing to do about this, it is naturally present. This fragrance of peace, this spaciousness, it is the fragrance of your own being.” ~ Mooji Dear Friends, We invite you to share your favorite quotes, segments and thoughts on this topic. Thank you.

Then finally I looked in my heart and there he was." ~ Rumi "You have to see and meet God in this life. Don't let this life go by and miss discovering the Supreme One. "We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls." ~ Mother Teresa Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth. ~ Swami Vivekananda "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven." ~ Jesus Christ “The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.” ~ Soren Kierkegaard "The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend." ~ Henri Bergson Dear Friends, We invite you to share your favorite quotes, segments and thoughts on this topic.
