His audition for Miles….. happy for him that he’s got the Stones gig, but please don’t tell me they challenge or nourish his talent.

that last question right there explains a big part of why gore didn't work: stephen and chino have to have different yet complimentary guitar tones, they can't have the same tone. stephen played orange amps on gore because of a storage locker flooding and he needed some new shit in time for the album or something. orange amps CANNOT handle super metal playing: chino can play it because his playing is less overly metal than stephen, which is totally cool and unique. you have to turn the volume and gain up way more than most amps to get it sounding adequately "metal", but as a result, no noise gate can really clean up the sound to where it needs to be with clarity and a lack of bullshit noise. they're also a lot more guilty than other amps of eating up the frequencies that drums and bass guitar need to sit at if your guitar goes low like stephen's 8 strings do. abe said gore was supposed to come out 6 months sooner than it actually did, but the initial mix and master didn't work. he won't say it, but thats probably why. and listen to how shitty the mix and master of gore ended up being anyway. chino can play orange as long as stephen doesn't play orange. ohms is a fucking AWESOME cd, they really got back on track with that one.

These interviews are like work for them so they have to put on their “work face” but in their heads you know they’re thinking “this is bullshit we should be doing something else”. It’s all love at the end of the day. Ohms is a grower but I’m on board and it’s great.

I've been using Dunlop ultex 73 for about eighteen years and I just switched to the ultex 1.14.That being said I am certainly going to give the blue-chip a try. There are some big names using Blue Chips now Chris Thile and Marc O'Connor are among them so I know there is something to those blue chip picks.I am always on the lookout for anything that I feel may help me improve my playing and the Blue Chips seem to be the hot thing among flatpickers these day. I will spend the $30 and see if there's anything to it.

I'll give them a try. Regarding the carpet buffer: why not get a piece of carpet from Family Dollar for $2.00 and cut buffing sticks from it instead of wrecking someone else's carpet? Excellent playing, by the way.

You must be really lousy at your job. Steph's eyes say it all. If you know anything about Stephen, he's high for every interview. If you know anything about ganja, you act less high the more it becomes apart of your life. Stephen could probably smoke the majority of rock bands under the table.
