@LukeTalbot312 сағат бұрын
Haha yeah it can be really unnerving at times, but idk i honestly would rather run in the dark/early morning over it being light out, it’s just a lot quieter and calmer. There are definitely times when I get a little freaked out running, but I guess I just assume i’ll run into the woods and nobody will be able to catch me 😭

If you could choose regular training times, what would be more important, temperature or time of day?

Hmm that’s a hard one, I would lean towards temperature, but if I’m being honest, even if it’s 10° out I’d still rather run at 5am then wait till 3pm even if it was nicer then. That being said, if I’m only doing one workout that day, I would probably do an easy shakeout in the morning and workout in the afternoon, so I guess it really depends? That’s a tough one 😂

The biggest takeaway from Nike trainers is the non or flatter rocker geometry. This really strengthens/stretches the gastroc. If i train too much in any highly rockered or plated shoe its calf pull or even tear. I was looking at Vomero17 as the outlet has not stocked my Pegasus39,40. Keep up the great work and looking forward to a complete Vomero17 review!!
@LukeTalbot35 күн бұрын
definitely hear that with the calves, mine are quite sensitive so gotta be careful with them. Appreciate it as well, I’m really looking forward to getting the Vomero’s, might even arrive tomorrow 👀
@esci885 күн бұрын
i have the same sensation, 3 pairs of invincible 1, 3 pairs of invincible 2 but only one invincible 3, it looks like it is more "flat" or "have a ground feeling sensation" than the prev. models and the shoes like an uptempo pace and not a slow pace. I'll prefer vomero for easy runs
@LukeTalbot35 күн бұрын
I just bought a pair of vomero 17’s and i’m hoping to sorta switch over to those for recovery runs!
@RocknRun225 күн бұрын
I agree, that’s why I try to wear my new balance more v4s as much as possible, cushioned but not too soft and almost forces you to slow down. Invincible 3s are good for pickups at the end of long runs, this is Tanner by the way
@LukeTalbot35 күн бұрын
I ordered a pair of Vomero 17's and I'm honestly kind of hoping I'll be able to use them for some of my recovery runs to switch it up. I love my invincible 3's for Long runs and even warming up for a workout, but man there are some days I just wanna slow it down a bit. Good look at conference big dog!!!

@LukeTalbot35 күн бұрын
I don't track my calories in the slightest, but I would guess it's closer to 1800/2000. 3 packets of oatmeal and 2 peanut butter jelly sandwiches would already be putting me over 1000 on top of snacks and dinner. I will also say I usually eat a little more on recovery days just due to not being able to eat alot after/before runs!

I stop eating by 5pm the day before my long runs (2hrs) and try to eat simple foods so my bowl movement BM is solid. I try to get out the door by 5am or 4:30am on other days. I essentially carbo load two days prior. Don’t eat anything in the morning beforehand except to drink some cranberry juice to get a BM. Then I take Gu gels and tailwind during my runs.
@LukeTalbot35 күн бұрын
I used to never eat or take anything during my long runs until this summer. It’s been an absolute game changer ever since. Especially a gel half way through, the second half feels so much easier and I don’t feel nearly as sore when I finish, something I wish I would’ve learned earlier that’s for sure!

I work 7:45am-4pm. I do a shakeout on my lunch break between 30-40min. Then I run again after work. I wake up at 7am most days and get 9ish hours of sleep. I rather that than get less sleep and wake up at 5am. But sometimes I do wake up at 5am if I can still get to bed early enough.
@LukeTalbot35 күн бұрын
I think getting 8-9 hours of sleep is one of the most important parts have being a really good runner, if I wasn’t able to do that consistently I definitely wouldn’t get up at 4am, but I also love running in the morning, so I do whatever I can to make sure I’m still getting in enough sleep. It’s always a hard battle to get everything done in time, but getting good sleep is so worth it!
@vanessamartinez49176 күн бұрын
I don’t think your routine is weird. If it works for you, then it works. I try to eat earlier as well, but I get heartburn. I recently switched my workouts to the evening instead of the morning. I wasn’t getting enough sleep. I would wake up at 4/5 am and do my run. I usually didn’t eat, but I did take gels, chews or carb drink with me if it was going to be over an hour. It’s hard to eat that early in the morning. On long run days I eat a banana and a high carb bar before I leave the house. Then it’s whatever fuel I choose to take with me. Hope your issues with fueling and digestion get better. 🤞🏻🏃🏻♀️🌈
@LukeTalbot35 күн бұрын
I appreciate it! It’s definitely a challenge to test with different ways to fuel and when to do things, but I do think it’s getting better and I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying! Always appreciate the kind words and encouragement 🙌🏼

Learning and experimenting with your diet can be just as tough as the training itself 😂 For racing and workouts I’ve actually found I don’t need caffeine, but I like to have a cup of coffee so I use the restroom, and I like to eat a slice of pb toast and banana about 90 minutes before a race, if it’s a hard workout I might add another slice and honey. I feel ya about trying to eat after the run, I usually can only get a protein shake down 30 minutes after without feeling too bloated. I eat dinner a couple hours before I sleep and if I really need to I’ll just have a piece of fruit and drink my electrolytes so I feel a little full while I sleep. For easy runs I’ve just been taking a gel 15 minutes before and another one on the run if I need to. Another banger video bro, love the dedication to the different camera angles 🔥

Haha I saw that and was wondering the same thing, all good, probably a glitch on KZbin's end. But yeah eating after running sucks, I know some people who can put down a full mean right before and after a run and it won't affect them at all it's crazy, but glad to hear you enjoyed the video!!

Yep. Up at 4 or 5 depending on season, have lots of water and caffeine then into a 60-120 minute workout. Usually don't eat until around 7 or 8a, sometimes will have an Outright protein bar mid way through long walks, rows or paddles. And stop eating around 3p. But otherwise, so so sooooooo different than you! Set feeding times seem to work well for me.

Love the FDOE videos! 🔥 Super nice to get an insight into your current diet, and all the thoughts you have around it and the workout 😊 I find the post-run protein shake so essential for me, especially because I take so long to make my meal perfect, and then also eat pretty slowly 😅 Those oatmeal bars and baked bars look so good. I really wish we had something like that or Rice Krispies in the EU, I would love to have something like that pre-run 😋 Also see that your still making your way through those road trip donuts from Chicago 😆 Regarding eating before bed, I usually do about 2 hours before I sleep, but I ideally would want 3, since I usually have a pretty large dinner, and tends to contain a lot of fiber too.
@LukeTalbot36 күн бұрын
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! If you ever come to the states you’ll have to buy some food to bring back with you 😂 The donuts lasted much longer than I expected, though given there were 24 I guess it makes sense lol, I would love to have some more time inbetween eating and sleeping as well, but i’d have to eat dinner around 3/4 at that point and that might be too early haha!
@MuseFoxs6 күн бұрын
@@LukeTalbot3 Yeah definitely will, all I'm gonna be bringing back is just pure snacks and foods, I'll have to get clothes I can just thow away 😆 Yeah I usually and ideally start making my dinner at 4 PM, but if I really want to be done eating by 6:30 pm, and have 3 hours before I sleep, I would probably need to start at 3 pm, unless most of my food is already prepped. I do meal prep a lot, since I like to use that extra time to eat, and not worry about it getting late 😅 I definitely will go to the US one day, and hopefully within a couple of years, I would love to just try all the exciting food, and meet so many of the awesome people I look up to, like you 😊
