Great job friend! Very impressive dedication, I love it. If you start another language from scratch, or even if you know some of the language but just want to improve, i have found the Michele Thomas language learning method to be excellent for getting you speaking naturally. They are audiobooks that are super easy and low effor to listen to, and get you speaking the basics of a language very quickly indeed. Pair that with some french videos at the right level (with friench subtitles) for listening comprehension and you'll be set. Oh btw the audiobooks are quite expensive, but you can find them for free if you know where to look (it isn't hard haha).

Well done for 30 days. It took me a few months living in France. I got there at age 12 turning 13. Left at nearly 15. Great experience. Wish I stayed instead of moving to Spain for 9 years. Didn't enjoy my time there much. Met a couple great people but I would've prefered France. I need to pratice more. I understand it all at least, pretty much.

I find it weird when a guy is willing to do so much extra stuff for a "friend" who happens to be a girl. In my experience, men do it with hopes of getting a chance to either have sex or date or obviously both. Women hate hearing this but ignore how a man's body works in terms of biology. It's only natural if he finds a woman he likes, even if it isn't psychical at first, it will be. It will become more than what it was. And a guy is gonna wanna do more than just be friends. Especially if he claims you're his best friend and he doesn't have any other "best friends". Like of all he does if hang out with you, that lets you knoe everything. Just ask and insist. Tell them to be honest because you wanna know. Don't say much else. Let him speak. Watch.

If I had to do it off the flash cards I woulda been same way but with duolingo it really helped. I've already retained 1000 word's in 15 days. I understand over 43 short funny stories. That also helps to make associations. Also the gamification helps to motivate me. You can hear characters talking so your practicing listening which is harder than reading. It has speaking exercises too but I supplement some hard sounding words from youtube videos. I have a trip to canada soon so been putting about 5 hrs a day.
@zackburkhardtКүн бұрын
Wow that is impressive from duolingo. but 5 hours a day definitely would help a lot, i got a max of maybe 1
@kiradomochi496122 сағат бұрын
@zackburkhardt yea it's because I'm taking a trip to canada and my friend wants me to meet his mom and friends. Some of them only speaks French so I didn't want it to be awkward 😅. The trips in 6 days, so I'm going Gung ho lmfaooooo
@kiradomochi496122 сағат бұрын
@zackburkhardt yea 5 hrs a day isn't really practical for most people. Its quite abnormal lol I just have a little bit of extra time now, so taking advantage while I can

@zackburkhardt but the other thing w the app is that you get feedback when you're making a mistake and let's you correct it until you get it right. I corrected about 1000 mistakes already, so that also helps

I’m really curious, are you going to continue with the journey to learn French so that you can one day speak fluently? Or was this only for 30 days?
@zackburkhardtКүн бұрын
If I have the opportunity, I do really want to keep pursuing it. That being said, its a lot harder without a specific goal. If i got a job in france, or got a french roommate or something, then definitely. But its hard to put in the effort continuously into french considering I'm also trying to improve my german to a level where I could live in Germany. I also have other hobbies and stuff I want to pursue. So ultimately, I'd love to, but I have no concrete plans yet to keep learning

As a french speaker myself, I really think that you did an amazing job. French is difficult, you managed a very good progress in 27 days only with cards. I can't estimate the sae for myself in english, because I speak english since school, but yet I'm learning german right now as well as spanish (easier to learn for a french speaker), and it's so hard, there's no way I could make such progress in 27 days.

YOU KEEP GOING AND DONT LET THAT STOP YOU CUZ MOST PEOPLE QUIT AND ARE SCARED, you got a real kind friend there who I’m sure will be amazing to help you.

You seem quite disappointed with the results but I can tell you, i'm french and i'm as impressed as your friend was when you told her you have only been learning for 27 days, don't compare yourself to people on the internet, most of the time only people with strong predisposition to learning new languages that developped very efficient techniques to do so will be confident enough to post videos about their journey My mother was an english teacher in France for 40 years, she's not with us anymore but she'd be definitely impressed too It's been a year now since the video released but if you want to go beyond those 30 days and become more proficient in french I'd be more than happy to chat with you anytime! Bien joué, je suis impressionné
@zackburkhardt3 күн бұрын
Thanks! Looking back I think i was unfairly disappointed in myself, but honestly in part because I think I could've done better in the moment. I think i got really nervous (as any viewer can tell lol) and because of that, I think I didn't speak as well as I could have based on that current knowledge. I'd love to go back and learn more some day, so I might take you up on that eventually :)

Honestly, this is the first video I've watched of yours. I know nothing about your channel and coincidentally, my first language is French (from Quebec, Canada <3) and I'm also fluent in English, thanks to friends I had when I was younger as well as video games, music, movies, etc. All I have to say is... please, ask her out for crying out loud. You wouldn't have attempted to learn a whole language for 30 days if you didn't think she could be your partner for life. Seriously, that's a huge commitment. Just... DO IT.
