I have to say after watching your videos many, many times (btw I'm also sold on Glovelocks. I always was a keep the original knot tied kind of guy but after buying a few used gloves, especially owned by guys with large sausage fingers, I definitely see the advantage of having them) I want to see what other companies are out there. Most people have their big 2..obviously Rawlings and Wilson, some have 3 with 44, I'm also a 3 but my 3rd is Mizuno. I got a Marucci recently, still not sure how I feel about it, but your vids are giving me the courage to venture outside of the box. Not just well known brands that I've never tried, maybe something really unknown. There's a Japanese glove company on eBay that I'm very interested in, the only problem is the shipping comes out to 1/5th the price of the glove. But I just wanted to give you a quick shout out. As I get older I realize there's more to gloves than just Rawlings and Wilson! I hope you're killing it with the Glovelocks...on so many glove review videos, the person is using a pair or 2 on some or all of their gloves. Also, I really wish you'd make more videos. Your first video I saw with the 8 new Flatbills, at the end you mentioned reviewing some of your collection of 70 something gloves?!? Wow! Your glove reviews are in depth and totally rewatchable, I've watched them so many times but I'd love to see some new content. Best of luck brother!

Hey- thank you for the comment. You’re right! You definitely should look at other brands. I need to get to doing those videos. I have soo many gloves from a ton of different custom companies. If you tell me what you need and love about your glove I can give you my humble recommendations. Everybody has their own opinions and I can give you some help on what I’ve found in ordering from different companies. I will tell you this… there are a lot of custom glove companies that offer amazing leather for half the price. I appreciate you. Thank you. 👊

@@theglovelock1752 well first, I think I want to try patterns that I never have before. I've had and actually bought just today a modified trap but 11.5, pitcher/infield, which I've had before. What I haven't, is an outfield modified trap, like a kp92 or josh hamilton's jh32 which looks similar with probably a few minor changes. That Japanese company I mentioned..don't quote me..Hatewekama? It looked 12.5 to 12.75, blue leather, for 160 I was willing to try it out but 40 bucks shipping made me put that on the back burner. I said 1/5th the price of the glove. More like 25% of the glove price. Besides that, going back to little league and before days, keith and mattingly were my idols, so bad I would actually cry that I wasn't left handed...normal stuff 🙄 so I always played 1st with a regular glove cause back then...you seem to be from California...back east before Sports Authority we had Herman's, World of Sporting Goods. Your average sporting goods store with sections devoted to gloves, bats, and then other sports. Finding a 1b mitt was like the old needle in a haystack thing. Til one birthday my father went to the pro shop at MSG..don't know if they still have it and found a Mizuno $180 1b mitt which I believe at the time was pro quality...maybe not what pros would get but it wasn't a mom and pop glove or even Herman's..certainly not for a 10 year old. Only problem was there was no internet obviously, - some of today's basic methods, doing the 'shoe shine' method to loosen the leather, stretching it out, to me that was the equivalent of breaking and ruining the glove. I had no one to ask.. Everything was trial by error. I had read glove oil it up stick a ball in there, rubber band it up, stick under the mattress for a few days, boom, your glove is ready to go. When I did this and found it did basically nothing I assumed the small amount the glove would open was as far as it would go and I'd have to get used to that. Then probably directly cause of that I lost interest in baseball sadly. Fast forward to adulthood, like I had a hole in me that needed to be filled, I sort of went nuts. 1st glove in 30+ years was the 2018 rizzo pro preferred, 2nd glove 2 days later an outfield pro preferred, 3rd glove the Mizuno pro lmtd, the $600 retail, free one time restoration but I didn't pay close to 600...then over the years I accumulated about 23 gloves which was around was my peak. The 2014 Rgg12.75H Gold Glove Opticore is the nicest leather I ever felt and has been sitting in a box for 2.5 years now. That's I believe a $500 retail glove but again I didn't pay close to that. But as far as 1b, my peak was about 12, I've reduced that to about 7, currently the pro preferred which being the first I can't ever sell, a hoh, a custom hoh I did in yankee colors..of course this year they introduce team logos a year too late, a 2021 a2k which superskin/snakeskin is nice but I missed an all leather mitt so 3 days ago I bought an older NWOT A2K all leather 1B, I also have had a NWOT hoh profm19mx, the short lived mesh backed 1b 13" mitt. Very rare to find that, very very rare to find it nwot. Deciding sell or keep. I had the Wilson Abreu 12.5 DCT (from Wilson!) JAB79 with spin control but found it too bulky so I sold it...sold some that I don't regret too much, the hoh p. goldschmidt, the pro preferred Adrian Gonzalez, a Mizuno pro limited 13", another $600 retail with one time restoration that again didn't pay close to full, a 2020 Wilson 2820 12.25". I have maybe 12 'regular' gloves, in and outfield a mesh catchers mitt cause I went through a mesh phase, my latest pickup was stantons game glove, not the 2018 black, blonde palm which I do have, but his current gamer, japan exclusive only for some reason. But 2 days later I saw his game glove, name embroidered, 13" instead of the standard 12.75...but mine I can comfortably use, if I bought the actual stanton glove it would be a shelf/mancave piece, I'm scared to break in my gold glove, there's no way I could break in an actual pro issue from my favorite player. 650 ain't cheap but I hope to have my mancave (gf says exercise room psshh) by Dec and if it's sold by then I won't die but I'll be a sad puppy. Cause my 2nd fave player, an actual game used Judge...that I saw for 25k and that's a bigger worry...650 seems like batting gloves compared. Anyway sorry to ramble, like I mentioned my first step out of the 3 was the marucci...honestly, instead of going for their top of the line I should've tested the waters on their 'honor the game' series...much less of a risk $ wise and again I'm not 100% sold. I'm going slow with the break in plus I have so many new, some used gloves coming in I didn't need top of the line. I write alot as you can tell and this is me sort of restraining myself. I've wanted to ask, how do those Flatbills play? I saw you making the stock red and then another video a blueish one your gamers. You being infield 3b mostly? How do you like your gloves formed? The rare times I play infield I don't need super shallow, in and out as quick as possible transfers so I try to do almost everything thumb to pinky, even if that's just too deep. Maybe that's why I prefer the outfield and obviously 1st. And how's the RC? The last vid you came out with was a super ridiculous sale on an A2K, I was so jealous you got one that cheap. Did any of the Flatbills become gamers? That oxblood where you even say it felt different, that was a beauty. So to finally answer your question...honestly it's nice to get all this glove stuff swimming in my brain down even if no one reads it. My gf, God bless her heart, I try to explain some basic glove stuff and I can tell she makes an effort to really understand. Basesloadedsomething.com produced a limited 36 1786 blue superskin, black glove which I snagged for 310 and had a buyer at 400 but forgot weeks ago she said I love that glove! The guy paid...but I saw the look on her face and tone..I had to reneg and let my feedback take a hit. But 1b wise, something that closes thumb to pinky...if it was a glove thumb to pinky..on a mitt, basically no toe showing cause the thumb matches it dead on. That would be ideal for a 1b mitt. Glove wise, I look at patterns, 'this looks interesting', maybe try that sort of thing. Everyone loves stiff, pro stiff and I get it but 2 gloves I have brand new for sale on ebay, they are both soft even though they have never been used. One is a color sync 1.0 which is virtually impossible to find new. That's at least how I took the Rawlings rep when he burst out laughing when I asked is it really hard to find an early color sync new? Japanese gloves tend to be on the smaller side, no? The rep mentioned the high shipping cause of the pandemic. Anyway, this might have been the longest post I've ever written...insomnia doesn't help and if nothing is accomplished, at least try to make more videos! I uses to keep your new 8 Flatbill, new 6 Flatbill gloves then the one where we see how they look on repeat. It was a pleasure, take a couple days to finish reading this 😀 and 1b will always be my passion and then like I said, looking for new companies and new models...not 'well I have plenty of I webs, let's see how a V web plays'...nothing like that...I think you know of what I mean. Take care sir!

do you ever 2 in the pink? I know you're mostly middle infield but ever t.i.p? for me wilsons are just so much more comfortable t.i.p. even tho traditional will have the flatter pocket which is better suited for m.i.f.

nycjin816 hey, thanks for watching. No, I never go 2 in the pinkie. I know it has become very popular and I respect every ball player’s choice, but I want to feel the ball in the palm and index finger. I feel that when you open up your hand to go TIP you move your palm and finger away from the center of the glove. I will be doing a video about the difference in the actual anatomy of the hand and what happens when you go TIP. But there are benefits to both. And to each their own. Plus when you use my GloveLocks you can open up the pinkie laces quickly and tighten them back around both or one finger. Love the question. Thank you!👊

@@theglovelock1752 I've always enjoyed your videos. at the end of the first one I'm pretty sure i heard a collection of 70 different gloves? wowee you weren't kidding when you said it's been a dream of yours! you need a separate room just for storage! glad you're in a position where you're able to pursue your desires. like most, in the outfield, rare pitching and depending on the 1st base mitt I'll go t.i.p. but ss 2nd and 3rd is always always traditional, one finger out. I also like feeling the ball hit my palm. a rawlings colorsync I have, 31 pattern has very little to no heel padding and I really like it. why don't they list which models come thinner than others? like the dp15, (at one point at least) you knew you were getting a very thin heel pad. seems like the trend these days is deeper and bigger gloves in the infield, most obviously at 3rd. I got my first 1788 not too long ago and I really like using a small glove. I used to say who would waste money on a tiny baby sized glove but besides forcing you to work on 'soft hands' I feel more confident each day using it. to the point where a standard 12 3/4 outfield seems oversized. currently gaming an el3, the 1788 (no superskin) an adrian gonzalez pro preferred 1st base (teixeira's glove with a different color for the Rawlings logo) and my trusty gcp51. I love h webs but I also love traps. please come out with those videos! you did the 3 with flatbill (beautiful gloves btw) and in some of them you said you'd do separate videos on each glove, differences in webs, pockets, break in methods, just videos on gloves in general. I understand you're busy running a business but I think you have a lot of knowledge to pass on and I make sure to catch every one of your videos. maybe aim for 1 new one a week for now? you the man!

nycjin816 I think you have a great approach. Different gloves and different positions need, perhaps, the different hand positions. I have been a glove addict my whole life, but now can afford to actually do something about it. I have been really busy working on the business- getting it up and running. But I am back at the videos and I have a ton of content and even more gloves to show off and review. So thanks for watching and keep an eye out. I love to talk gloves and hear all the different takes on fingers and fits and glove models etc. Love it all! Thanks! 👊

@@theglovelock1752 cool bro, I'm already subscribed. I discovered your product about a year ago and thought that's a great idea. thing with me is I never untie my pinky and thumb laces..even if it's not a perfect square knot and it's ugly and bunched I just keep it like that. I'm not a pedroia fan with long tentacles all over the place. but I have a gray/black/red superskin 1786 that I might consider putting them on. if you've seen it they call it red brick superskin. not sure what colors I'd put on it. suggestions? also have a tt2 because I've always (thought) wanted one but I realized I'm not a fan of thumb to middle finger close. I guess that's why I'm more outfield and 1st then m.i.f. my obsession pales in comparison to yours but in a few years I've built up a modest collection. I've got a bad weakness for 1st base mitts. I always thought I wanted a double break mitt til I got the 2800 in saddle tan. and then 2 hoh dcts and the blue rizzo pp. the wilson wasn't what I was expecting tho the dct you can kind of 2 hinge break which I did on one of them. Teixeira is one of my favorites (being a yankee fan didnt bias me at all 🙄) and I always thought he had a giant 13' mitt....actually I assumed most pros did so I was pretty surprised when i found out most dont..I'm sure wilson customizes their 1st base mitts for the pros but all the stock 2800s are listed 12', then a few 12.25 and a 12.5 a2k I think. I noticed the a.gonzalez pp is the same as tex's except with rawlings in blue and looked at the lace pattern and noticed it was a double break. I hesitated because I wasn't crazy about the 2800 but wow, out of the 8 1st base mitts I own it's easily my favorite and no way is it 12.25. I noticed votto, freeman, gonzo, tex, fielder, bagwell all used some form of the profm model. goldy, hosmer, smoak, voit, and bird are just a few that use 13'. during my ichiro phase I got 2 gcp51s, (hard to find) and 2 gmp70bks (REALLY hard to find) then I sprung for the pro limited gmp700. maybe the nicest leather on any of my gloves. borderline shelf queen. mizuno traps just open so wide it's like on what pros wear, they mention gardner's gmp700 is essentially a wide fishing net. it does feel like that. softball wouldn't be an issue. maybe even dodgebaseball if you could use gloves 😶 I've never done the custom route. have you ever been so disappointed with how a glove turned out you wanted your money back? I read on some forums if they mess something up you can send it back or keep it at like half off, like if they spell your name wrong or something. do you change gamers fairly frequently? are you still at that high number you mentioned or have you pared it down at all? I would imagine it would be hard to pick a favorite but what's one of yours? you mentioned the old st louis rawlings (with bob clevenhagen making the gloves?) with the dry tanned horween leather was some of your favorite gloves. is it really that heavy and stiff compared to standard leather? have you seen the limited horween stuff on sbf? they have a 1st base, some h webs, etc. have you tried a primo? similar in weight? I still have one glove I've taken out of the box and plastic 3x for pictures and put my hand in 4 times. the rawlings gold glove rgg12.75, the 2014 not 2018 mocha ones. its opticore, looks like no heel padding. the mocha is gorgeous but it's a little on the gaudy side, semi gold labels, writing in gold. I thought the 2014 model was much more subtle and classier. the stitching, gold on the fingers, hand sewn welt. that's actually the best leather I ever felt but I think that's never gonna be used. maybe sell it. I tried to buy 3 in addition to that one so I could use one and hoard the others but the ebay douche was a fly by night thief, fleeced about 20 people including myself. I totally get the love and obsession with gloves. they are works of art. your guys at nokona will say anything overseas is poo poo almost but the quality from rawlings and wilson seems to only be getting better. I feel like rawlings is trying to stay young and hip and keep up with wilson. for some reason 14u love wilson. I made the mistake of putting a 1786 on sidelineswap and was bombarded by 10 year olds...i was like '220, can't do less' .....'I'll do 165' 'sorry, I won't go under 220' .....'ok 175 that's my last offer'.....umm sure. pretty sure this was my longest post ever but anyone who loves gloves and talking gloves as much as I do I'll go on for hours. what are some of your babies? speaking of, I heard one in the background of one of your videos, congrats!

I will be doing more unboxing videos and reviews of the different brands so you can get an idea of what’s out there. There’s so much leather out there and so many companies are doing great work. I want to share it with the glove community. Stay tuned...in the next months I will be getting 6-8 more gloves. Looking forward to it! Thanks for checking in!

Great question. I have 4 11.5" FlatBill gloves. 3 of them play to a true 11.5" and one, the black and yellow mesh plays a little small. But all of the 11.75" play big. But still good. If you're a middle infielder than 11.5" is what you want. But the feel, fit and weight are incredible. Second to none in my book.

R Webs good but tough question. I find the fit and feel of the glove is better than Wilson or Rawlings. It feels like a custom fit. They all seem to really mold to my hand. Also, the leather is stiff and strong in all the right ways, but not too thick like the Pro preferred. It's also the lightest glove. Lighter than my A200 super skin. You can US Kip - great feel. or upgrade to the Japanese Kip and that's amazing. I love the way these break in. It's form is more similar to the Rawlings than Wilson. Wilsons have a distinct feel and shape. Hope that helps. You will not be disappointed. But you may be poor after you get it. Look at me. I got one. Then 8. And already ordered 4 more:)
