Thanks for your nice comment 🙏. Well, I call it D9 because the note e comes after d, which is the 8th note of the D major scale. But of course, Dsus is correct 😊

Are the back and side wood species the same? The HB had more volume at the low end and a little muddy , but not bad. The price difference is immense , so the HB is a good buy.

The top of the HB is spruce, the rest is maple 🍁, even the neck.

That's right! What I wanted to demonstrate is that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a guitar with a good sound.

Taylor came out swinging. Much tighter, brighter, acoustically matched you very well. How was the action between the two? But for a beginner, the HB would be a great recommendation.

Tone wise the Harley Benton is louder and has more overtones, it still sounds like an inexpensive guitar, but the larger sound box is helping it here. It reminds me a lot of the sound of an Epiphone EJ-200 I use to have. Nothing wrong with that guitar. However, the Taylor is a lot more focused sound. You have your voice, a harmonica and the guitar in the mix at various points and that Taylor is doing its job much better to support your vocal. I stopped listening to the performance with the HB after about 60 seconds because sonically it's kind of a mess, but I listened to the full performance with the Taylor. It's not about which is the better guitar on its own, but which is the best tool for how you're going to be using the guitar.

The Martin sounds a little bit 'smoother' in my opinion .. but not worth the price difference for sure. When I was in Europe (missing my guitar) my son took me around shopping for something I could play while there. We couldn't find any suitable used ones so tried a new shop where I sampled many brands. I settled on a little 12-string LAG .. Made in China for the French Market. It sounded pretty good! .. and I was surprised in the price difference! I must say that your rendition of Heart of Gold sounds pretty fabulous! ♫•*¨*•.¸¸✿

Great sound from both Hans...I'm hearing more top end from the Taylor and more bass from the Harley...I suppose you would choose one over the other for certain songs...what is the action on the Harley like?
