You have to protect the growth plate at this age. Plus general burnout from too much baseball

Was this a free heater or did my guys just hang the shit out of a curveball I can’t tell. Either way he’s probably going 80% so there is SOME competition.

Lmao, he threw that with like 60% effort. Come on now. The man is a MLB level pitcher. He would cook 14 year olds if he tried. 😂😂

Age means nothing in sports. It all comes down to hard work. If you show the determination you can be the best. But if you lack the determination and respect for yourself youll flunk out and just be forgotten

I had showed up late for game day at our rival school. My dad stoped at 7/11 so I could get some Gatorade. Who is there in line, defensive coach. Benched, because I tried arguing my way out of it. New GF and homecoming date is going to be there wearing my jersey. On the side line like a chump. 4th quarter comes around , Rival Wr running all over my replacement covering him, HB couldn’t muster more then 2 yards per carry. Rivals set for a blowout. Coach is yelling at his assistants over the radio watching from the Box. Decision is made to let me play finally. First play dive off strong side guard right, my replacement the transfer from California couldn’t get the timing down and he was constantly getting hit in the back or tripping over our own guys. They play to fast In California, in Texas it’s more brute and patience letting your FB and TE hit their blocks before you hit the jets. The ball is placed perfectly, I stutter step pretending I’m going for a dive then hit the guards right , this little move gives the play enough time to develop allowing some good blocks to form and allowing me to hit my stride by the time I break through I’m 5 yards, break middle Lb tackle I’m 10 yards, I hit the breaks and do a quick hop back and the strong corner goes flying past me, hit the jets and it’s a stiff arm to the free safety and I’m in the inzone. The crowd goes bonks, my team loses its mind, the coaches act like they planned this whole thing the whole time and my stupid dumb immature ass spikes the ball and celebrates. Flags everywhere, unsportsmanlike conduct 🤣. We lost because the penalty put our kicker out of range lol. I was so sure of myself and my athletic ability that I really thought I was bigger then the team, that my future was secured. I could have been great but it was small stupid self sabotage moments that built up enough for me to ruin my chances at a playing in the big 10 or Sec. I was offered scholarships in the Mtn West and sun belt. I was such a entitled jerk I denied those opportunities thinking eventually the premiere teams would come around or i could walk on to an sec team and get a scholarship. Wrong answer, I joined the Army after 9/11 and grew up after 5 tours to Afghan and a lot of humbling experiences. I wouldn’t trade my military career for anything , but there will always be apart of me that wishes I wasn’t such an arrogant young person because I know I had what it took to go pro. Just because I had all the talent didn’t mean I deserved it.

Don’t trip bro, you made core memories and those actions pushed you to who and where you are now. All that arrogance and ability to go pro, but you went ahead and served with distinction for your country, good on you
