Dont get anything under limited, the headlights absolutely suck and you cant see anything at night!! Just skip the base and XLT. I am saving to replace my headlights to platinum headlights. I have the xlt though

Yes they come with the 3.0L twin turbo V6. 400 horse 415 torque.

I just got the 2022 Ford Explorer limited and let me tell you it is so worth it to spend the extra money is absolutely beautiful so comfortable to Drive I definitely like that from my cell phone I can turn the car on unlock it lock it And it will also when it is increase control steer by itself

Why the 3.0L Ti-VCT V-6 engine is not available on the limited model? (Not the 3.3 L Hybrid). That would be my choice. I don't believe the 2.3L engine has enough power to pull a trailer 5,000 lb.

Bought a 2021 iconic silver with sport package. Sunroof and 4x4. Been towing a Forrest river camper. It works great as long as you don’t go over 65. It drinks the gas if you go over.

The larger wheels just don't look right on that vehicle, it looks too big for that body frame. Standard 18" is the best look for that particular vehicle.

The best detailed comparison out there. I like the new look of 20/21, even on XLT trim, the car looks handsome. Would you recommend getting a used 2018/2019 sport trim, of course higher mileage over the a used 2020/2021 XLT + comfort pkg that is priced the same (slightly lower mileage)? Thank you

Great question! While the Base variant of the Explorer can be purchased in 4WD, fog lights are not a standard option.

This was great! Totally concise comparison. I'm getting an XLT 200A through a fleet company. Do you know if the dealer can install the LED foglights after the fact? Anyone else asked you this? Thanks!

Thanks for the question, Mike! You’re the first to ask. While it is totally possible to add fog lights, you may find it cost ineffective. Along with the lights themselves, you’ll need wiring harnesses, a control switch, and a new lower valence for the front bumper that accepts the lights. Pair these parts with labor from your local body shop and service department for install and wiring, and you’re in for quite the bill.

I just got the XLT and mine doesn't have the foot swipe feature to open the rear hatch. So either you are mistaken or I am doing something wrong. Other than that great comparison, thank you.

Thanks for the information, Clay! We did some reading and found that the Foot-Activated Power Liftgate is not on the XLT. Apologies for the mistake, and we hope you love your new vehicle!

Although I'm open to hybrids.....why would anyone buy one in this model? The gas mileage is really not any better than gas only engines. Now in a Highlander you do see better gas mileage.
