Keeping the entire mushroom including the base of the stipe is critical for making a proper ID. Especially with amanita species!

My favourite russula so far is : Russula cyanoxantha, also known as charcoal burner or variegated russula, really nice texture and taste To test it's flavours nicely, I only cook it on a pan, at first only the mushroom cut into pieces and not adding anything else, dry on the pan, then once they released their water and the water vanished from the pan, I add some butter and keep cooking, then in the end I add some salt and it's good to go, really nice.

Altough considered to be not eatable, it doesn't have toxic or poisonous substances, so... ;) Also, it's not really a mushroom. Very intresting case ;)
