Lovely job sport. Fox is grand to tie with I think. Gives a sweet profile to the fly. Do you think nayat is similar or a bit sturdier material?
@RyanHoustonflytyingАй бұрын
nayat is longer but stiffer i use it to support sunrays

Hello Ryan, great video. Would you have any fly patterns that have proved to be successful for coastal sea trout in Northern Ireland/Ireland?

Ryan , your work is always appreciated. I’m having a problem with my horns twisting when trying to tie them so the blue color is outside , not the yellow. Any tips to solve this problem?
@RyanHoustonflytying2 ай бұрын
not sure what you mean they should be yellow on the side blue on top

Can't believe that I'm tying flies right now as well I can't believe I never thought of reversing the hook while wrapping tinsel thanks. By the way you really do tie some beautiful flies. Do you sell any. I ask because I'm just starting to tie atlantics so it would be nice to have 1-or-2 in front of me to see and remember. I built a couple little cases for them. not sure what part of the world you reside but I'm on vancouver Island I say this because I could trade what ever you might want.

lovely pattern and well-well-tied Ryan. I will be giving this a go this evening. I am lake fishing this week. Do you have any recommendations on which flies to tie? Nymphs and buzzers are the norm for me.
@RyanHoustonflytying3 ай бұрын
i think everyone has their own local favourites if you are confident in a fly youll keep it on they can only catch fish if they are in the water, early season blacks and olives should do ok

Ryan you say your using a cape rather than a saddle, does that extent to coloured hackles aswell. I was using cheap cock indian capes for long enough, then i changed to indian saddles and to be honest i havent found them any better than the cape for a nice tapered shape ?
@RyanHoustonflytying4 ай бұрын
capes have better taper in general

Beautiful would love more of these style flies, I'm always fascinated by you appling seals fur as you make it look effortless, but it's always just out of view are you also twisting the bobbin ??
@RyanHoustonflytying4 ай бұрын
sometimes if its a long bit i will twist it on then spin the bobbin to take out the antitwist
