Not got a problem with paying extra for a quality product, however the UK pricing is actually ridiculous compared to the price in the US. Even if you take into account the import duty and tax they are still hundreds of pounds more expensive. Also you can buy them in Italy for £2500 where the vat rate is similar to ours and they also have no trade deal with the US. So why do us Brits have to pay £3250?

Thank you for posting this. To the point script, clear audio and little tips like replacing the bushing, greasing the spring and taking time to adjust the B tension and correct the chain length help. Might be worth mentioning manufacturer's caution about direction of master link and S saying that it's not reusable 😁.

What about the Entrata Wind? I have just bought the normal Entrata bib tights, and they are just so comfy and a bargain to the price - but I actually feel just a tad too cold on the front of my thighs and the crotch, when riding in and below 7-10 degrees celsius and a bit of breeze wind. All other parts of my legs and upper, is comfy and warm. Should I instead go for the Entrata Wnd, the Tutto Nano or the Sorpasso? And what about the new Espresso? I will mainly use it for cummuting to work on my cross bike (about 10km x 2 a day). But also when dry and sunny, on some longer rides on my road bike (I am a "sunny day only" road rider guy😄). I live in Denmark, so the winter weather will be anything from 10 degrees and sunny, to ÷5 and rain or snowing 🙄😆 If its heavy raining, I dont ride to work though - then Ill take the car. So, what will you recommend? And should I pair it with the Perfetto Ros 2 or the new Perfetto Air (or maybe the new Espresso jacket)? I think its very difficult to choose between the Castellis range, as they are overlapping each other and have almost the same material and description 😦
@SaddlebackCyclingАй бұрын
Thank you for the feedback and the question! As mentioned at the start of the video, we didn't focus on the windproof bib tights as on the whole they are too warm for most UK winter rides. What is best for you obviously comes down to personal preference and how you ride + how warm you ride. The main downside to windproof bib tights is that the fabric is less stretchy and will fit slightly baggier. If you are looking for warmer bib tights, the Entrata Windproof are very warm for the money, but the Rolls Royce are the Sorpassos.

Im kinda indecisive between this Perfetto Air and the new Espresso Air jacket. I guess the latter is somewhat thicker and less stretchy/tailored? As the Espresso is listed for temperatures between 0-10 degrees it seems the best choice for overall autumn/winter riding?
@SaddlebackCyclingАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment! You're correct that the Espresso Air is better for more traditional colder Autumn and Winter rides. The Perfetto Air is better for high tempo cold days or typical milder Autumn temperatures.

Hi. Thanks for the great video. I've been wondering, if you guys can help me to choose between perfetto max and perfetto. I am currently owner of perfetto light and I love these. Wear them down to 8 degrees in comfort. I would like to get a gloves that would fit below that temperature down to let's say 2 degrees without bulk. I know max have still plenty of dexterity but I really like the lightness of the perfetto light. I am not sure between the two. Also heard that neoprene cuffs on the perfetto is prone to damage. Thanks
@SaddlebackCyclingАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment and sorry for the slow reply. Down to 2 degrees, we would have to recommend the Perfetto Max. You might run warm and be fine with the normal Perfetto gloves, however it would be pushing it. For a glove that goes so low in temperature, it is very minimal
@ivanporada8634Ай бұрын
@SaddlebackCycling I 've decided to go for Perfetto max and I am very happy with the decision. Normal perfetto is no use for me. Thanks
@andersbjrnskov81302 ай бұрын
So...whats the difference between this and the normal Perfetto (ros 2)?
@SaddlebackCycling2 ай бұрын
Good question! The Perfetto Air is less water resistant (so isn't a fit and forget jacket for all weather) but is significantly better at regulating moisture management and keeping body temperature regulated. Through research, Castelli discovered that almost all Perfetto ROS 2 owners weren't riding in the rain, and when they did they just put a hard shell jacket on over the top. The new Perfetto Air is the best windproof jacket in the market for air permeability and breathability by a significant amount, so offers riders THE best jacket for dry conditions. You can then put a packable waterproof jacket onto if the rain start falling :)

I live in OR. Riding thru the winter is cold and wet obviously... I use PI Amfib tights, Shoe covers, and a Gabba Jersey with Gore wind stopper arm warmers most of the time, a merino wool base layer under. It's so good. I have a perfetto ROS convertible jkt too. I carry a hard shell waterproof jkt. in my pockets for when it really gets bad or I have to stop and get cold.

So its "just" a softshell, jacket? If I ride in 0 to 8 degrees, what would you recommend - the Perfetto, this Espresso/Ristretto og maybe the Alpha Ros 2...or the Beta Ros maybe? Or Alpha Flight?
@SaddlebackCycling2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the comment! If you ride in the dry (or light rain/road spray) then the Espresso Jacket is the best for keeping you comfortable. If you are (like the vast majority of people now) a relatively fair weather rider who carries a packable jacket, then it is the best. If you want a 'fit and forget' aero jacket that can keep you comfortable in all weather (but not be optimised) then the Perfetto is for you. This means no carrying a packable rain jacket, but just pushing on through whatever. The Alpha Flight is best suited to riders who want the rain protection similar to the Perfetto, but then option for better temperature management by being able to open to windproof front (which does make it flappy). Hope that helps. Any further questions, just ask!

Two questions: 1. When hammering out the rotor side hub shell bearing do you ever notice the white inner seal (PHB829 - #5) gets two or sometimes one cut from the split ring on the hub tool? 2. Similar to the first question, when hammering out the rotor side hub shell bearing do you ever notice the inner race of the bearing get wedged causing the bearing not to spin? This requires me to press the inner race back into place. I've done a full disassembly of my Gen 3 ISO 148mm rear hub three times now and every time both the white seal is damaged and the bearing inner race wedges itself requiring me to unjam it.
@SaddlebackCycling5 ай бұрын
1.)Yes, the white seal can sometimes be damaged when removing the bearing. We’d always recommend replacing it if there's any damage - these are replaced, along with all the seals and snap rings, with every service. If you need any of these spares, give our sales team a call and they will be able to help you. 2.)Sometimes the inner race can be slightly dislodged or wedged within the bearing after removal, most commonly the non-drive ISO bearing. This is easily pressed back together carefully with your fingers and thumb, or the face of the hammer on a flat surface. This doesn’t damage the bearing at all.

The issue is the bike industry. The standards change so frequently that within 5-7 years your components are no longer compatible with anything. I have Chris king 1 1/8 headsets, iso hubs (100mm*20, 135mm *10) and they are all in landfill as they aren't compatible with any thing and there's no upgrade path for these old components. So great in theory, but Chris king made the t47 bottom bracket standard when we already had press fit, BSA, and the host of others so he's adding to the waste

How often do you meed to service the current 2024 chris king mtb hubs?
@SaddlebackCycling5 ай бұрын
It really depends how often you ride them and in what conditions. We would suggest a full service once a year as a minimum. Because you don't need to replace the bearing etc, it is an inexpensive job. If ridden a often, then a clean up mid way through the year (not full strip down) is worth it.

One thing i noticed is that the Progetto X2 seems to fit better under the sitbones compared to the Kiss Air. Kiss air chammy is way to high on the back while the progetto X2 fits perfectly covering the the saddle with the thickest part where it should be. anyone experienced the same?
@SaddlebackCycling6 ай бұрын
Thank you for commenting! Our experience is that this is very dependant on the bibshort/tight as the pads will feel like they sit differently on different models.

This video is actually better than the one that Enve put out themselves. They failed to mention how important it is to make sure the tape is pressed all the way down into the channel to ensure a good seal. They also failed to mention how important it is to apply enough pressure on the rubber inside of the valve as you tighten the nut to get a good seal. I like your Allen key trick. I'm on my 2nd attempt to retape and get a proper seal without air and sealant leaking through the valve opening on the spoke side of the wheel. Wish I had watched this video first! I actually noticed that the spoke and valve holes are drilled slightly off center of the deepest portion of the rim, which makes it even harder to get the proper seal with the valve. Wondering if maybe that is a manufacturing defect..

Thanks for the question! We only suggest the recommended Chris King oil and grease as the tolerances are so tight in the hubs that the wrong ones can cause the hub to not work/engage properly. Hope that helps.
